Chapter 307 The Healer’s Sacrifice
Nira’s POV:
Only my mentor, Alexander–the uniquely formidable Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack— possessed the rare ability to shapeshift so effortlessly that he could even alter his gender.
“You again? What kind of trouble are you stirring up now?” Alexander cast a casual glance in my direction.
I immediately forced myself to calm down, recalling his strict instruction to address him on as “Master” while others were present. “Master, I’m not stirring up any trouble.”
Kade stood up instantly, offering a respectful bow. “Master, please, take a seat.”
Alexander studied Kade for a long, intense moment before finally settling calmly into the chair.
“Your body hasn’t even healed yet, and you’re already itching to run off into the world. You cal that not fooling around?” He reached out, beginning a thorough examination of my condition.
I hurried to explain everything that had transpired over the past few days. “Master, the woman who captured me claimed she killed my mother. I have to get to Meridia immediately to find
her…”
“Silly girl.” Alexander patted my hand gently, his expression composed. “Slow down. Listen to what I have to say first.
“The woman who captured you was my junior sister, Lila Dixon.” Alexander sighed heavily. “Years ago, she had just mastered our clan’s ancient healing arts. The first time she left the pack to offer medical aid to others, she fell for a man. Eventually, she committed a grave violation of our medical code for him, and our master expelled her from the order. I haven’t seen her
since.”
My heart tightened in my chest. “That man was my father–Killian?”
Alexander gave a slight nod. “It was pure chance that I ran into you back then. It was only because I recognized your extraordinary talent for medicine that I took you on as an apprentice.
He let out another sigh. “Your parents were fated mates, deeply in love. Lila must have let her love twist into hatred, because when your mother gave birth to you, she stole you away in
secret

I pieced the rest together. “Because she was jealous that my mother possessed my father’s lo she stole me and handed me over to Jenna, the Luna of the Blazeborn Pack. To hide my identity, she orchestrated that entire ‘switched at birth‘ lie to ensure Jenna’s family would mistreat me.”
Kade, who had been listening with a deep scowl, let out a cold, sarcastic huff. “They really wer to extraordinary lengths just to torment Nira.”
Alexander nodded slightly. “It was all part of Lila’s revenge. She didn’t just want to separate your parents—she wanted their daughter to endure a life of misery.”
My fingernails dug into my palms as tears spilled silently down my cheeks. “Then… do my parents know I’m still alive?”
Alexander knew far more than Jett’s investigation had uncovered. “Back then, Lila swapped a stillborn baby for you, so your parents both believe you died that day.”
My heart trembled at the revelation. “But Lila said she had already killed
my
mother…”
Alexander’s expression suddenly turned grave. He pressed my hand gently. “Child, before I came here, I reached out to some old contacts in Meridia. Your mother has indeed encountered trouble recently…”
My heart felt as though it was being wrung out.
I grabbed Kade’s wrist urgently, pleading with him. “Kade, please take me to Meridia. We have to search pack by pack until we find my parents.”
Kade frowned, his worry evident, but he stood his ground. “No! Look at the state your body is in right now-”
“I can perform a specialized treatment on her,” Alexander interrupted, pulling an antique kit of slender needles from his sleeve. “This technique will temporarily stimulate her body’s latent energy and bring her back to fighting shape.”
Kade’s brow furrowed deeper. “But won’t that put a dangerous strain on her system?”
“No.” Alexander had already laid out the needles, the tips glinting coldly in the sunlight. “It is better to let her see the truth with her own eyes than to let her sit here worrying herself into an early grave.”
I nodded frantically. “Kade, please…”
Kade held my gaze for a long moment before finally sighing in defeat. “Fine. But you have to promise me you will follow my lead the entire time.”

“Deal.” I nodded quickly.
Kade offered a resigned smile, reached out to ruffle my hair affectionately, and then turned to Alexander. “Master, please proceed with the treatment. I’ll go speak to Noah about arranging our departure.”
“Mm, go ahead,” Alexander said with a slight nod.
As Kade walked out, Alexander spoke softly to me. “That boy truly cares for you. At least the risks you took to save him were not in vain.”
His tone dropped, becoming serious. “And remember–you must not reveal my true identity to anyone, including him. If you do, and I am not there to intervene, the Silvermoon Pack could be in grave danger.”
