Chapter 342 The Deal
Chapter 342 The Deal
Third–Person POV:
The surrounding raiders all drew their weapons, their cold steel glinting in the firelight. The tension in the air became palpable.
Natalie remained perfectly composed. Slowly, she pulled a piece of weathered parchment from her coat and unfolded it near the flames–a detailed map of the Dark Desert’s water sources.
Pater’s eyes locked onto it immediately.
“The Blood Wolves survive in this desert because of water,” Natalie said, her tone steady. “This chart marks every oasis and underground stream… including three fresh springs your scouts haven’t even found yet.”
Pater’s breathing hitched, but he recovered with a sneer. “You think a scrap of paper is enough to buy your way out?”
Natalie’s gaze sharpened. “Mr. Walsh, you want the mine? Take it. But mines need workers, and workers need water. Without this map, even if you seize the claim, you’ll never hold it.”
Pater’s expression darkened, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists.
“I’ll offer you an additional ten percent share of the diamond mine,” Natalie continued coolly. “This map included. Plus, three years of guaranteed safe passage through the Dark Desert for all Hudson family caravans.”
Pater stared her down, visibly weighing his options.
Natalie let out a low, humorless laugh. “Or you could try to force us to stay. But let’s be clear—the Hudson family already has men stationed beyond the desert borders. You know our reputation. We’re the oldest pure–blooded Alpha lineage in Veralle and Meridia, with ties that run deep.”
She swept her eyes over the assembled raiders. “Do you really want to wage war against the entire Hudson family over one mine?”
Pater fell silent.
The wind howled across the sands, stirring the campfire embers. After a long moment, he slammed a fist on the table and grinned. though it didn’t reach his eyes. “Fine! You drive a hard bargain, Ms. Hudson.
He reached for the map, but Natalie flicked her wrist, tucking it back into her sleeve.
“You’ll get the map once my party is safely beyond the Dark Desert.”
Anger flashed in Pater’s eyes, but he only grunted. “Alright. I’ll take a Hudson at their word.”
With a sharp gesture, he signaled his men to clear the path. Natalie turned and walked away, her back straight as a blade.
“Boss, are we really letting them walk?” the second–in–command muttered, glaring after Natalie’s retreating form.
Even though their alliance had taken down the Dendo crew and made them the dominant force in the desert, watching the Hudsons leave left a bitter taste.
“That’s the head of the Hudson Group and the young heir,” the beta pressed, voice grim. “If we took them hostage, the family would pay any ransom we asked.”

Pater was tempted—the greed in his eyes was plain –but he shook his head slightly. “The Hudsons have connections all over Meridia. Rumor is they’re tight with the Alpha King’s own bloodline, Cross them, and we’d be signing our own death warrants “
Even so, the hunger in his stare didn’t fade.
