Fury Unleashed: The Awakening Alpha Nira (by Chloe Ramos) novel Chapter 355

Chapter 355 Deception and Grief

Nira’s POV:

The words struck me like a bolt of lightning, leaving my mind completely blank..

It took what felt like forever to shap back to reality, and when i did, my heart sank straight to the pit of my stomach.

Natalie’s face turned ghostly pale in an instant. With trembling hands, she opened the report, and as her eyes landed on the phrase “Paternity Not Established,” she swayed on her feet, nearly collapsing right there.

“This can’t be…” she whispered, voice shaking. “How is this possible…”

I didn’t have the strength to comfort her anymore. I just lowered my head, fists clenched so tight my sails dug deep into my palms. Kade watched me with worried eyes, gently prying my fingers open before lacing his hand with mine-a silent reminder not to hurt myself.

When I looked up at him, I felt utterly helpless, maybe for the first time ever.

He pulled me into a firm embrace, one hand rubbing my back slowly, wordlessly offering what comfort he could.

Nearby, Desmond stood frozen, his expression stuck somewhere between shock and denial. “There has to be a mistake,” he kept muttering under his breath. “This isn’t right.”

Natalie lifted her gaze slowly, eyes clouded with confusion and hurt. She turned toward Jason, her voice barely steady. “Could there have been an error in the test? Is it possible to… run it again?”

Jason’s face was solemn as he shook his head. “Ms. Hudson, the results have been verified multiple times. The findings are conclusive.”

I let out a shaky breath, forcing a bitter smile. “It’s alright, Ms. Hudson. Let’s just… let it go.”

Maybe some things just aren’t meant to be found-like my real parents.

Third-Person POV:

Natalie stepped out of the hospital entrance looking utterly lost. The midday sun beat down on her pale face, harsh and glaring. Desmond guided her gently by the arm, glancing back now and then toward where Nira stood, quiet and withdrawn.

He had been so sure Nira was his cousin-practically certain-but now…

Once they were out of sight, Jason returned to his office and locked the door.

From his desk drawer, he pulled out another report-the real one. In bold print across the top, it read: Paternity Established: 99.9%.

He picked up the phone and dialed Killian’s number.

“Mr. Hawke, it’s done. I gave Ms. Hudson the falsified report, just as you instructed.”

what should I do with them?

There was noise in the background of the other end. Killian seemed to be in the middle of something urgent. “understood. We’ll discuss it later”

His voice shifted as he called out to someone nearby, then returned to the line, speaking quickly to Jason “Secure the ones deal with it when I’m back.”

“But, sir Jason tried to interject, but the call had already ended.

Holding the real report, he couldn’t help but think of Natalie’s devastated expression as she left. Why would Killian do something like this? It didn’t make sense.

Not far from the hospital entrance, a man in a black mask and sunglasses leaned against a pillar, watching Natalie and Desimond disappear down the street.

He pulled out his phone and dialed.
