A cold sensation spread through Alden’s chest. “May I see my sister?” he asked.

“Go ahead, but try to stay calm,” the doctor replied with a heavy sigh.

Alden slowly walked into the surgery room.

Several nurses and doctors were still busy finishing up the procedure.

When he saw his sister lying weakly on the hospital bed, his hands started to shake.

“Is there truly no way to change this?”

Alden clenched his teeth tightly.

He refused to accept this fate.

“My condolences,” a nurse softly said, shaking her head.

Taking a deep breath, Alden pushed himself to approach the bed. He had faced life–and–death moments countless times in his previous life.

His mind had grown strong and unyielding.

But today was different.

Watching Brielle about to leave him again, a crushing sense of hopelessness consumed him. He could no longer hold back the sorrow, and tears poured down his cheeks.

“Why is this happening?

“God, why are you doing this to me?!” he shouted in frustration.

His fists tightened as he cursed his own weakness.

“She might still be saved.”

A soft, youthful voice suddenly spoke up.

Standing at the doorway of the operating room was a teenage priest dressed in traditional robes.

Hope flickered in Alden’s eyes as he quickly turned toward the figure.

“Please, help her! Save my sister!”

Alden begged desperately, as if he had grabbed hold of his last lifeline.

The young priest calmly replied, “I can’t guarantee success.”

“What about your mentor? Can he do it?”

Alden asked urgently, assuming the boy must have a powerful mentor.

“My mentor has passed away,” the young priest softly answered with a shake of his head.

Gritting his teeth, Alden said firmly, “Please, do everything you can. If you save her, I swear I’ll repay you!”

The young priest gave a gentle smile. “It must be fate that we met. I’ll give it a try.”

He approached the hospital bed and looked at Brielle.

A silver glow began to shimmer in his palm.

Alden stared in shock. An expert in internal energy?

Olden Warrior truly existed in Lardovia.

He had learned about them in his previous life.

The energy radiating from the young priest closely resembled that of a legendary internal energy master.

Raising his hand, he gently placed his glowing, silver–lit palm on Brielle’s forehead.

The soft light slowly seeped into her head, and her pale face gradually gained color.

Alden’s eyes lit up with hope. After a moment, the young priest calmly withdrew his hand.

Wilder gently refused, “That’s far too generous. Just give me 10,000, enough to buy a gaming pod.”

Alden was taken aback. Wilder had figured this out. Maybe they could be friends.

Once he had sorted out Brielle’s situation, Alden headed back to his rented house and logged into the game once more.

This time, it took him over three hours to get back into the game, which set his progress behind.

But he wasn’t overly concerned about it.

What mattered now was the escalating conflict between Roland and Village Keeper, which was about to reach a boiling point.

The NPCs, unlike the monsters in the Rookie Village, do not respawn once being killed.

Alden had already taken down five bosses, so how would he finish the Village Keeper’s next quest?

He could keep defeating NPCs with his power.

However, he chose not to do that, as it would be too dangerous and could draw Village Keeper’s suspicion, making it harder to finish the quest.

Still, he wasn’t ready to abandon Village Keeper’s quest.
