Chapter 1899: Worst Decision [Bonus]

[Bonus chapters thanks to TheHonored One69 <3]

The 713 Emperors all stepped out from their mountains, their gazes focused and gloomy.

Their gazes locked onto the Monkey King Mountain. The commotion wasn't small; it was all too obvious what had been triggered.

At the bottom of the mountain, a familiar Emperor Lizard woman had already reported back to the Enforcement Claw what was happening.

However, after Sylas had stepped into the Dungeon, it had become something impossible to interfere with.

When news of the Emperor Dove's death came back, reverberating through a tablet connected with his Will in the Claw Hall, the Emperor Lizard woman had been completely infuriated and wanted to charge out.

But her superior had stopped her before she even had the chance.

Berne was a woman with a fiery temper, and it reflected in her Will. If she had been born an Emperor Ape, she would have certainly become an Emperor Lizard instead.

So all of the explanations and pleas for calm she received fell on deaf ears against the stringent restraints that were put on her.

However, even there—even chained and restrained by her own comrades and superiors—she didn't understand.

Why did the death of one Emperor Dove mean that they would just give up and let Sylas do whatever he wanted?

When she felt the mountains shake, she pulled against her restraints only to be forced back. It was only her wrists and ankles that were restrained, but it was certainly enough to stop her from moving entirely.

At that moment, the man who had restrained her walked in.

He was young, but he had already entered the lower levels of the C-tier.

"WHY?!" Berne roared, her hair dancing as she tried to pull herself free but still failed.

The young man looked at Berne and shook his head. He had an odd look to him. A quarter of his face was covered in a burn he couldn't seem to heal, and he had one canine coming down over his bottom lip, while the other side of his lip had nothing at all, almost like he only had one of them.

Yet, despite his oddity, he had a strong gaze and was, overall, pleasant to look at. Sometimes it was hard for people to reconcile the two things in their minds, and they ended up being sucked into his cool gaze instead.

The young man's name was Zhen, one of the very few members of the Enforcement Claw who was from one of the four main lineages.

Although the Enforcement Claw and Wing were both made up of the strongest disciples of the Emperor Sanctum, those of the four main lineages didn't make up a large segment. This wasn't because they shirked their responsibilities, but instead because being a part of those four main lineages came with its own weight of responsibility.

They were often the representatives of the Emperor Sanctum on the world stage. They were the ones who fought for positions on Dungeon Leaderboards; they were the ones who represented the Sanctum in tournaments and conflicts.

While there was still a certain quality that any disciple who joined the Emperor Claw or Wing had to meet, it was often safe to say that those of the four main lineages who joined were far from the best of the best they had to offer.
