Chapter III
His jaw clenched, the veins at his temple pulsed as he breathed heavily. His fists trembled at his sides, nails biting into his palms until blood dripped.
“Don’t,” he hissed, voice shaking with fury. “Don’t you dare speak another man’s name in front of me!”
I tilted my head, mocking him. My body was still reeking of blood from the men I had just slaughtered, “Oh? You forbid me from speaking another man’s name, but you moaned and slept with another woman while bound to me, knowing I would feel your actions and bear your sins? Wow. Just wow. Should I praise you?”
“Then what should I do to have you again, Scarlett? To have you come back and be the way we used to be?” His voice was filled with longing, obsessed and pleading.
My eyes turned cold. “Nothing. I won’t go back to you. Saving me or killing a few dogs your precious Luna sent isn’t enough” His eyes–those once–familiar eyes I used to think held warmth–darkened with madness so strong even his wolf surfaced. straining against him with obsession for me.
“You’re mine, Scarlett,” he growled. “You always were and always will be! I’ll burn this world to keep you.”
“I belong to no one,” I snapped back. “Especially not you.”
Then where do you fucking belong? To that fucking Lucien? Did you spread your legs—”

efore he could speak, I punched him hard again, ignoring his darkening expression. “You made your choice long ago.”
He was silent for a heartbeat. I pulled my hand back and glanced at the chains on my legs, debating using force to break free.
couldn’t stand being near Alexander any longer.
But before I could react, Alexander lunged at me. His hand clamped around my throat and slammed me back against the blood–smeared wall.
Fuck!
Pain shot through my skull, but I bared my teeth at him, refusing to let him have his way. I clawed at his arms, leaving angry red marks, but he was too strong–too crazed.
“Fuck! Alexander! Let go of me!” I snarled, kicking him with all the force I had left.
But he didn’t let go. He didn’t care that I clawed his neck in my struggle. His face loomed closer, his breath hot and ragged on my cheek. “Scarlett… ah, Scarlett… If you won’t stay by choice, then don’t blame me for finding another way to make you stay.”
“You’re fucking sick!”
With terrifying strength, he threw me to the floorboards. My body landed with a sickening thud. Pain radiated through my spine, but I tried to push myself up–only for his legs to pin me down.
“You are mine. I’ll make sure you can’t leave me…” he murmured as his nose brushed my cheek.
I glared at him, trying to push him off, but he wouldn’t budge. “No fucking chains will make me yours again, Alexander! Get
lost!”
“Get lost?” He laughed, but the sound was hollow. His eyes shone with wild light, no longer the man I once knew. All the desire and fake affection he could once hide–now he stripped his mask away.
