Scarlett’s POV

His hands were on my cheeks, gripping them tightly, forcing me to face him–making sure I couldn’t avoid his kiss this time. His mouth crashed onto mine, suffocating, burning, a violation I couldn’t fight off no matter how hard I struggled or kicked. He was on top of me, clamping his legs over my waist to stop me from kicking him.
This fucking bastard! How dare he do this to me!
If looks could kill, I would have killed him already. He was closing his eyes, savoring the kiss he forced on me.
And this time, I responded.
I clamped his tongue with my teeth, making him hiss as he broke away from the kiss, pushing my waist aside.
I glared at him and spat the blood onto his face, looking at him with disgust. “You are the most disgusting person I have ever met. You and Faye really do make a great couple.”
“Didn’t you like my kisses before? Why are you acting like you don’t want to be kissed by me?” he said, wiping off the saliva and blood I had spat onto his face. He swallowed the blood from his injured tongue, acting as if I hadn’t almost bitten it off.
I glared at him. “I’m not fucking acting. Dare to do that again, and I’ll cut your tongue off!”
His
eyes darkened as he leaned closer to me, making his weight and heat press down on me.
“Alexander! Get the fuck off me!” I shouted, my eyes widening as I felt his arousal burning against my stomach, his hands gently caressing my cheeks.
Fuck! Lucien, where the fuck are you?! I can’t take this anymore!
Alexander let out a soft chuckle as he leaned in, his breath hot against my cheek. “See how you made me react? I want you, Scarlett. I want to erase that damn Alpha’s touch from your body and replace it with mine.”
“Don’t you dare,” I gritted out, glaring at him, wishing I could kill him right now.
As his hand started to roam over my body, my eyes reddened. I squeezed my eyes shut and screamed as loud as I could. “LUCIEN!”
This made Alexander pause, his face darkening. “I told you, screaming is futile in this forest. No one in their right mind would find you here in this fores-”
Before he could finish, the wooden door exploded inward and Alexander went flying backward into the wall. I watched, breathing raggedly, as he hissed from the impact, blood smearing his lips and forehead. He looked stunned and shaken.

I glanced at the person who had kicked the door in, sending Alexander flying as well. My eyes blurred at th corners as relief flooded through me. My mind screamed for rest, urging me to sleep now that Lucien was here.
But I couldn’t, because he might really kill Alexander. It wasn’t that I didn’t want Alexander dead–it would just be troublesome to go against the High Council and Faye would surely find ways to make trouble for us.
It would be better to let them live… but make them suffer; let them regret their actions, and no matter how much they beg, let them never recover, never return to the way things were. I wanted to see them fall and never rise again.
I watched as Lucien’s face darkened, his pheromones wild, as he slowly walked toward Alexander, grabbed hi hair before Alexander could react, and slammed his face into the wall. Once. Twice. Again.
“You dare touch her? I told you if you even touch a strand of her hair, I’d fucking kill you. Do I look like an empty threat?” His voice was cold and so was his gaze as he continually bashed Alexander’s head against the wall.
The wooden wall turned bloody. Alexander’s face was a mess of blood, his nose broken from the blows.
Alexander tried to fight back, but Lucien kicked him again like a ball, sending him flying into the kitchen. His body convulsed in pain as he coughed up blood.
“H–How did you find her here?!” Despite the pain, despite all the blood, Alexander looked defiant, unable to believe Lucien had found him.
Lucien’s cold eyes swept over him as if he were less than a bug. A filthy insect.
“She called me.” Though his voice was icy, I could feel the warmth buried inside it.
My eyes grew red and my voice trembled. “Lucien…”
This time, Lucien looked at me. The coldness in his eyes changed to guilt and worry as he walked toward me, his wolf fighting to break free with rage at my condition.
“Little wolf…” His voice trembled with fury as his clawed hands carefully touched my wrists, moving to the chains binding me. He tore them off fast, hands trembling.
the chains on my ankles.
he gently wiped away the red with his thumb. “Stay here. I’ll kill him.”

Lucien’s warm hand soothed my back as he hugged me tightly. “I’m sorry, little wolf. I was too late… I let you suffer this…”
I shook my head. “It wasn’t your fault. It’s theirs. You’re not late…
Lucien pressed his lips together. “If only I had prevented this from happening…”
I looked into his guilt–ridden eyes, gently holding his cheeks and leaning so our foreheads touched. “It’s already happened. We don’t know what will happen in the future. I’m just thankful you’re here.”
“She’s mine, Lucien! Get away from her!” Alexander roared.
I almost forgot he was still alive.
