Chapter 119
Scarlett’s POV
The first thing I felt when I woke up was pain.

I was uncomfortable all over. A dull ache settled deep in my thighs, and my pearl burned with a soreness that made me wince even before I fluttered my eyes open. I could still feel his length lingering deep in my pearl, adding to the discomfort.
My muscles felt like they had been stretched and wrung out, every nerve raw, and every breath reminding me of what had happened last night–or rather, earlier this morning. After all, Alpha had the stamina of a beast, and he was insatiable; he couldn’t be satisfied with just two or three rounds. We ended up doing it from one morning to the next.
It was already afternoon now.
I let out a heavy sigh as I opened my eyes and felt his arm around my waist. His chest was pressed firmly against my back, his steady breaths brushing the back of my neck and making me tremble. He was completely relaxed in his sleep, but even then, his hold on me was possessive, as if he was afraid I might escape or run away while he slept.
I lay there for a moment, eyes adjusting to the dim light seeping in through the curtains. The events of the night replayed in flashes. The heat of the bathroom, his tongue, his teasing, his touch, his kisses, his breath, and the way he devoured me like I was the only thing that could sustain him.
My cheeks burned. I hurriedly shook my head and forced those thoughts away. Damn.
I felt like I was turning into a pervert at this point–or a sex addict.
I shifted slightly, hissing as the soreness between my legs protested. I was quite hungry, so I should get some food–after all, all I’d had was his semen and a bottle of water. Who wouldn’t get hungry after doing such tiring work that lasted until morning?
Next time, I would protest and tell him to stop instead of getting swayed by his seduction!
His arm around my waist tightened immediately as he sensed that I was about to escape.
“Don’t move,” he murmured against my skin, his voice hoarse with sleep.
“I’m hungry,” I complained, my face heating up when I heard my own voice.
His lips brushed the back of my shoulder lazily. “Let’s go and grab some food… just ten more minutes.”
I hummed.
I felt his hand gently massage my waist. “Sore?”
Heat rushed up to my face, and I buried my face in the bed. “Massage my waist. This is your fault.”
A low, satisfied chuckle rumbled from his chest. “Yes, my little wolf. I’ll be at your service.”
He chuckled as he sat up on the bed, half sitting on my legs–on top of me–while his large, warm hand gently massaged my waist, making me groan in satisfaction.
The tenderness in his tone disarmed me, making me soften against him despite the soreness. I closed my eyes and enjoyed his aftercare. After all, he was the one who put me in this situation, so if he wanted to do it again, he should take care of me afterward.

But fate never allowed peace for too long. My stomach rumbled, and at the same time, there was a knock at the door, sharp and urgent.
Lucien growled low in his throat, not moving to answer the door as he continued to massage my waist to ease my soreness. “If it isn’t important, I swear, they’ll regret disturbing our little world.”
I rolled my eyes, about to retort when the knock came again, this time followed by a voice.
“Alpha. Luna. It’s urgent.” I heard Arnold’s tone, serious compared to his usual self.
I looked at Lucien. “Get off me, I’ll get dressed first.”
This time, Lucien didn’t stop me and helped me get dressed–especially since I couldn’t move much. After making sure we were both presentable, we left our room to meet Arnold.
Lucien looked at Arnold. “What is it?”
Arnold looked at us and sighed heavily. “There’s a child who wants to see both of you. He says he won’t leave unless he sees the Luna. He’s in the lounge right now, crying and insisting on seeing the Luna.”
Lucien raised his brow. “For what?”
Arnold shook his head. “We don’t know. We tried to ask him, but he wouldn’t say anything. He just wanted to meet the Luna because there’s something he wants to tell her.”
Before Lucien could frown and command to throw the child out, I hurriedly spoke. “Take me to see him.”
Lucien looked at me. “What if it’s just an act and he has weapons hidden?”
Arnold replied, “Nick checked him. He doesn’t have any weapons. He seems to be abused or something. He has a lot of bruises and wounds.”
I frowned. “Lead the way.”
Arnold nodded, and we both went to the lounge.
When we walked into the lounge, I could hear the deafening cries of the child clinging to Nick’s arms.
“I want to see Luna! Take me to see the Luna! Let go of me, you bad guy!”
“Stop moving or you’ll fall,” I heard Nick say coldly as he held the child, who was trying to wriggle out of his arms.
Upon seeing this, Arnold couldn’t hold back his laughter. “Hold the child properly, Nick! Don’t make him cry!”
Nick just looked at him helplessly, then his gaze fell on me.
“Stop squirming. Luna is here,” Nick said calmly, making the child pause and look up.
Our eyes met. “What is it?” I tried to soften my tone.
The child squirmed, whispering hoarsely to Nick, “Put me down, please. I want to walk to her.”
Nick obeyed, setting the child gently on his feet. He wobbled unsteadily but forced himself forward until he stood before
“Are you…” His voice shook, tiny fists clutching his torn shirt. “Are you the Luna?”

Although Lucien stood behind me, ready to catch me if I fell, I stood tall and bent my knees slightly to meet his eyes.
“Yes,” I said softly, offering a gentle smile. “I’m Scarlett, the Luna of the Nightshade Pack. What brings you all the way here to
see me?”
Tears welled up in his eyes and then overflowed as he flung himself into my arms. The sudden movement sent a pang through my sore body, but I held him tightly, cradling his small frame, while Lucien supported my back as if to prevent me from falling.
“Kid, talk and don’t just rush like tha-” Lucien began, but I glared at him, then smiled at the child.
“What’s the matter, hmm?”
“Luna…” His voice cracked. “Please help them… please help my mama and my papa.”
My heart clenched. I smoothed a hand over his messy hair. “Tell me everything, sweetheart. What happened?”
He pulled back, just enough to look at me, his lips trembling. “They took them. The Crescent Moon people. They… they hurt us because Mama and Papa said you weren’t bad. They said you were brave and good, but others shouted and… and then…” His little chest heaved with sobs. “Alpha Alexander’s men dragged them away. They said Mama and Papa and the others would be punished for defying them.”
He wiped his tears and continued. “My mama sent me away… they all helped me escape since I’m a child… then I remembered that we had a Luna, so I… I walked until I met your people, and they helped me get here…”
The room spun. My lungs squeezed tight, my stomach dropping.
Alexander.
It seemed that he had already woken up.
Lucien clicked his tongue. “Pity. I thought he would spend his lifetime in bed. Next time, I’ll make sure he does.”
I ignored him and gathered the boy closer, patting his head gently. “I’m sorry for what happened to your parents… I’ll take responsibility for this.”
