Chapter 148
Scarlett’s POV
:
“Kill him before he gets here,” Natasha ordered coldly, making my heart go cold.
I stood up. “You said that if he managed to enter this place, I could go with him!”
Natasha’s gaze landed on me. “Yeah, I did say that. But I didn’t say he could get out of here alive.” “Grandmother!” I raised my voice, my jaw tightening, but she ignored me and looked at Agnes.

“So, what are we going to do now, Queen?” Agnes asked, the corner of her lips raised, clearly enjoying the situation.
“Is he alone?” she asked, making me grow more alert.
What is she going to do? I won’t let that happen.
Agnes nodded. “Yeah, he is alone. If he managed to find our lair, he would be the first person to find it and survive the miasma and the poison that surrounds our place.”
I gritted my teeth and looked at Natasha. “If he dies, I will die too. We are bonded.”
Natasha chuckled. “I can also remove that to prevent you from dying.”
“Then you will leave me no choice but to fight against you,” I answered coldly, staring straight at her.
Natasha went silent for a second before she chuckled. “For a man?”
“For my man,” I corrected.
Before Natasha could speak, Agnes looked at me and chuckled. “Don’t worry, she’s just trying to intimidate you. If he really manages to find this place alive and survive those poisons, we’ll save him.”
Natasha sneered. “He doesn’t need that.”
Agnes raised her brow. “He will die if we don’t cure him after inhaling the toxins and the miasma.”
“He’s resistant to poisons,” Natasha answered calmly, making me relax as I sat back on the bed.
“No matter how resistant he is to poisons, there’s still a limit to how much a body can take. You should know that better than anyone,” Agnes argued, sitting on the chair.
Natasha’s eyes
darkened. “Am I the Queen, or are you? If I say that he doesn’t need it, then he doesn’t need it.”
This made Agnes purse her lips and fall silent, exhaling a heavy sigh.
Natasha looked at me with a cold expression. “Come with me.”

I looked at her warily. “Where are we going?”

“Don’t worry. I won’t kill your child and won’t remove your mark. Just come with me,” she said, making me hesitate, unsure whether I should go or not. Then Agnes spoke, nodding her head at me.
“Go ahead and follow her. She’s your grandmother. She won’t harm you.”
Even though Agnes said it, I couldn’t trust it. After all, she might not harm me, but she would certainly harm the people around me.
After debating for a few minutes, in the end, I went along with her. I watched my surroundings; everything was different from Nightshade.
Here, there was more greenery and a wide open area, making it look like the people who lived here were fairies. There were also people who greeted us as we walked past.
“Is that your granddaughter, Queen? She’s pretty!”
“Wow, you finally managed to let her stay here!”
“Is she single, Queen?”
Natasha chuckled. “She already has an Alpha and he’s currently in the miasma right now, looking for our place.”
“What?! If he knows about our place, does this mean we’re in trouble?” one of them shouted in panic.
“He will be the one in trouble. Now, guard the place and let me know once he manages to find it,” Natasha ordered and added, “don’t interfere with his journey and let him find his beloved Luna.”
“That’s so evil of you, Queen! What if it takes weeks or months for him to find our place? An ordinary person can’t even last a day!”
Natasha shrugged her shoulders. “That’s up to him.”
I watched as she teased those women who called her evil so easily-she simply enjoyed being called that.
I helplessly sighed and rolled my eyes. It was a good thing my mother didn’t take after her, or it would have been problematic.
“So, where exactly are we going?” I asked, raising my brows as she grabbed my wrist and led me towards a run-down area-there were even broken stones blocking our path and cracks in the pillars, as if everything would crumble at a touch. But she led me inside without any worries.
“You’ll learn here how to control the curse and not let it take over. Otherwise, you could wake up one day only to find your beloved already a corpse.” Her words sent chills through me, and I couldn’t help but listen seriously this time.
After all, what had happened to them-sleeping for a whole decade only to find everything changed and their loved ones already gone-was too scary for me to think about.
