Three years had passed ever since I gave birth to our son. We named him Archer Honestly, raising a son wasn’t the easiest task in the world, but it was the most rewarding.
From the moment I held hun, tiny fists clenched and wolf aura flicked faintly around his fragile body. I knew my life had changed forever. I had fought wars, endured betrayal, and carried the weight of packs on my shoulder–but nothing compared to the responsibility of shaping the future Alpha who would one day inherit everything Lucien and I had built.
Archer…had matured earlier. He was obedient, understanding, and kind–I don’t know if it was a good thing specially that kids around his age should learn to throw tantrums, play outside, do what he wants, and would get clingy to their parents
Yet, Archer was not like that. Ever since he was born, he hardly cried. He won’t throw tantrums despite that Lucien and I weren’t always present to his life because of the responsibility we need to take care of. It was gratifying to have a son like him, but at the same time, guilt consumed us.
The moment he was born, we had hired a nanny for him especially that there were times that Lucien and I, both have an urgent emergencies to take care of the pack and we can’t just bring our child with us–especially that it was dangerous. We
id from the other packs that we had a child to prevent them from acting something against us, especially those neighboring packs who were quietly waiting for their chance to find the weakness of our pack.
We don’t dare to gamble the life of our dearest son, and as long as we’re alive, we will protect him.
snapped out from my thoughts as my gaze fell from the council chamber that was filled with different ideas and opinions. yet my thoughts weren’t there at all. A pressure behind my ribs. A dull, persistent ache I had learned to ignore the same way
ignored hunger, and exhaustion.
Since when was the last time I had properly slept?
Luna?”
blinked, lifting my gaze from the documents spread across the table.
Coby stood across from me, his brows were drawn together in concern and there were dark bags under his eyes, clearly rom sleepless nights.
Apologies,” I said calmly. “Continue.”
He did. The Cresent Moon’s exports had been interfered with again–contaminated shipments, disrupted supply lines. The same pattern last month that keeps us from sleeping peacefully.
Someone was testing us–testing if they can surely bring us down.
Bring the Crescent Moon down. Especially that I handed Coby the power to manage the Crescent Moon unter his hands if I’m not there, and would only visit the Crescent Moon if there was something going on I let him handle the altairs verit seemed that someone who had been waiting for my downfall, had known about this and they started targeting the Crescent
Moon.
I should have been furious
Instead any thoughts drifted.
Archer had not interrupted me once today.

“Yes,” I replied automatically. “Increase night rotations: Triple–check the western routes. If there are some suspicious signs, notify me immediately.
Yes, Luna.”
The meeting ended an hour later. I dismissed the council, rising with practiced grace, and ignored the familiar tightness in my shoulder as I stepped into the corridor.
The pack house was alive with movement–the servants bowed, warriors enthusiastically greeted me–especially Garrick ind the others.
Luna, are you here to train with us?” Garrick slyly said, the corner of his lips were raised.
shook my head helplessly and was about to answer, when Arnold added. “Oh, the young Alpha is in the garden. Luna.”
They started calling Archer, young Alpha since Lucien is the big Alpha.
don’t know who gave those nicknames to them.
chuckled, nodding my head. “Thanks! I’ll train with you guys once I’m free.”
Sure thing, Luna! The Alpha also misses you!” Garrick playfully shouted as I made my way to the garden that made me huckle.
Right, Lucien.
f I were buried with the Cresent Moon’s tasks, Lucien, too, was the same.
speaking of which, it had been two days ever since the last time we saw each other and honestly, I missed him a lot
My thoughts drifted away the moment I arrived at the garden, and there was my son, clutching a wooden sword loosely on is small hand as he practiced the forms Lucien had taught him while the nanny we hired–Agatha, sat on the bench >eneath the silver willow, her posture was relaxed and hands folded nearly in her lap.
The moment she saw me, she hurriedly stood up and was about to greet me but I pressed my finger on say hips and smiled it her, making her sat back again on the bench.
glanced at my child who were swinging the wooden sword Lucien had specifically made for him. His movements were precise and one could tell that he had been practicing a lot.
At such a young age where he should supposed to play toys and blocks.
Seeing the sweat drips from his face and the redness in his cheeks, I know, he had pushed himself to his limits again
“Archer,” I called softly.
He turned instantly and his eyes lit up.
“Mama”

Huit single word made my heart tremble with joy as I watched him ran toward me, his small feet pounding the grass, and I knete just in time to catch him as he launched himself into my arms.
The familiar warmth of himquilk and pine, and the faint train of Lucien–wrapped around me
Actually, he looked like a mini Luchen–almost a replica, except for his eyes that inher mine
All my exhuastion had been washed away the moment he hugs me.
‘I missed you,” I murmureento his hair while taking my handkerchief, gently patting it on his face that made him giggles
‘I missed you too,” he said quickly. “I didn’t want to disturb you.”
My hands stilled.
You could never disturb me, little one.” I said, pulling pack slightly to look at him.
Agatha stood smoothly, approaching with a warm expression.
‘Luna, you finished early today.”
at him.
Earlier than expected,” I replied, my gaze still fixed on Archer. “Have you eaten?”
“Yes,” Archer answered before Agatha could speak. “Agatha made soup.”
[ brushed a thumb across his cheek. “Did you like it?”
He nodded. “Very much.”
The corner of my lips raised as I looked at Agatha. “Thank you for your hardwork.”
She bowed her head slightly. “I only follow your instructions.”/
I smiled, looking at my son whose eyes lit up and couldn’t help but pressed my lips on his cheeks that earned him a giggle a he hugged my neck, burying his face on my neck.
