Chapter 90
Scarlett’s POV
I hurriedly took out the dagger from my pocket–a weapon Lucien had forced me to carry with me. I never thought ther it so soon, but now it had come into use. The dagger in my hand felt heavier than ever–it would have been fine if tow alone, but other lives depended on me, and I couldn’t afford to gamble with them.
I struck at the rogue the moment he approached, refusing to hesitate. My arm shook from the force as steel clashed ass steel, sparks spitting into the air. My body screamed from the lingering ache of the broken bond. Every nerve was ill w but I held my ground.
“I said run! Hurry!” I shouted at the Omegas huddled behind me. Their wide eyes were locked on the fight, fear mening them to the spot.
“But Luna- one whimpered, trembling as she clutched her apron.
“Go! Don’t delay–hurry up! Run away immediately!” I barked, swinging my dagger hard enough to fore the mue wines w about to strike the Omegas back a step. “Get inside the storage room! Bolt the doors and don’t come our unni say ”
Still, they hesitated. Fear had already consumed their basic reasoning. Their eyes were red their bodies rembling–teen didn’t know what to do.
The rogue sneered, circling us. “Look at them. Sheep hiding behind a crippled shepherdi. You can even stand wit shaking.”
I lunged, my blade catching his side with a shallow cut, making him back away I glared at them. They ne ander m protection. If you dare touch them, I’ll cut you to pieces.”
The other rogue let out a loud laugh. “Brave words for someone barely breathing.”
He feinted right, then slashed left. I twisted, my knees nearly giving out, but caught his wrist with my digger and wiremcteerdi it aside. My ribs screamed, my lungs clawed for air, nearly making me collapse:
Fuck it.
It hurt–the broken bond still throbbed with pain, and now this fight
“Scarlett!” The Omegas screamed and were about to come to me, but I shouted back. “Stay brad!”
The younger Omega–Mira–gritted her teeth and didn’t follow the others. Tind Alpha umem for you. Starletristic please!”
“No!” I tried to stop her since it was dangerous, but she dared through the herbs and accendi for the courtyard. My chest clenched with dread, but it was the right choice. If anyone could made it was Lumen

“You’re weaker than the rumors claimed,” one spat, circling like a predator. “She’ll be pleased to know how easy you break.
My grip tightened, and I let out a soft chuckle. “Stop talking, fucker,” I hissed, shoving forward as my dagger sliced his arm. Blood sprayed across the herbs, tainting green to red.
He laughed, cruel and cold. “You’ll scream soon, and I’ll be the one to make you.”
Before I could react, the second rogue lunged sideways–not at me, but towards the Omegas behind me, who still hadn’t fled.
“No! My voice tore from my throat as he grabbed one by the hair and yanked her forward. The young Omega screamed and struggled, tears slipping from her eyes as the gleam of a blade pressed against her throat.
“I don’t want to die! Help!” she sobbed, shaking violently.
I froze, horror clutching me. One wrong move and he’d slit her open.
Fuck!
I gritted my teeth and glared at the rogue holding her hostage. He smirked, his knife digging in just enough to draw a thin line of blood that almost made the young Omega faint.
He looked at me and smirked. “Drop your dagger, or this girl dies.”
I clenched my teeth, my dagger trembling in my hand. “Let her go. She’s just a child—an innocent. If you have a problem with me, come at me!”
“We don’t care whether she’s a child or not.” His eyes gleamed. “The mistress gave her orders. You come with us quietly, and maybe this child keeps her throat, or you see her corpse today. Your choice.”
My heart thundered. The Omega’s terrified gaze locked on mine, silently begging. My chest constricted until I could hardly breathe.
“My lady, don’t think about-” another Omega cried, but the rogue’s growl silenced her.
I forced my voice to steadiness. “If it’s me you want, then take me. Don’t involve anyone else. Let her go.”
The rogue chuckled darkly, dragging his tongue over his teeth. “A bargain? How reasonable. Fine.” He shoved the trembling Omega toward her sisters, who hurriedly hugged and shielded her from the fall.
Seeing that she was freed, I let out a sigh of relief. But it lasted only a heartbeat.
Because the moment I lowered my guard, the second rogue slammed into me.
I hit the dirt hard, the air whooshing from my lungs. My dagger flew from my grasp, sliding into the herbs. A weight crushed me, his knee digging into my chest as his blade hovered inches from my face.
“My lady!” I heard the young Omegas scream amidst their sobs.
“Hold her,” he growled to his companion. Rough hands pinned my wrists to the soil.
I thrashed, spitting dirt from my mouth. “Get off me!”
The rogue above me smirked, pressing cold steel to my cheek. “The mistress said you don’t need a pretty face anymore. Said to ruin it before delivering you. We don’t know how you offended her, but her grudge against you runs deep. You’re quite pretty–it’d be a pity not to enjoy you thoroughly.”

Disgust flared through me. My heart slammed, my skin burned, and I fought the urge to vomit. I jerked, but their grips tightened.
“Do it slowly,” the other urged, laughter sharp and cruel.
The rogue’s grin widened, eyes alight with sadistic joy. “Don’t worry, Luna. You’ll still be breathing when we’re done. She wants you to suffer first.”
The blade pressed harder, nicking my skin. Warm blood trickled down my cheek.
And just when my strength wavered, just as despair clawed at me-
-a roar shattered the air.
Raw. Violent. Familiar.
“Get.Away. From het!”
My heart lurched.
Lucien.
The rogues stiffened a fraction too late. A wave of pheromones burst through the garden, thick and suffocating, knocking the Omegas to their knees. Even the rogues faltered, their grips weakening beneath the crushing force of his rage.
“Alpha-!” one Omega gasped as she crumpled, trembling under his presence.
The rogues cursed, still trying to hold me down.
Lucien blurred into motion, claws out, eyes glowing like fire–his fury a storm unleashed.
“You dared touch her?” His voice was low, guttural–a snarl more beast than man.
The nearest rogue lunged at me again, but Lucien was faster. He ripped him away like he weighed nothing, slamming him into the ground so hard the soil cracked.
The rogue coughed blood, sneering even as he choked. “You’ll never keep Scarlett safe, Alpha… not from us…. not from her bond… we’ll destroy her.”
Lucien’s claws pressed into his throat, skin splitting beneath the pressure. His eyes glowed a vicious crimson. “You dare speak of her bond?” His voice shook with lethal promise. “You don’t deserve her name on your tongue.”
His fist slammed into the rogue’s face. Once. Twice. Again. The sound of bone giving way echoed in the garden. Blood spattered, teeth scattering across the dirt.
“Lucien ” I whispered, my voice trembling, but he didn’t hear–or refused to. His fury was unchained, as if he’d been waiting to unleash it.
I watched as the rogues‘ faces became unrecognizable. Their skin bulged obscenely, blood pouring from busted noses and cracked lips. One blinked through blood–stained vision, another’s weak cough sent red froth bubbling from his lips.
They stared at each other in shocked, jaw–dropping silence, fear clawing through what little resistance they had. For a moment, they were no longer faceless enemies–just broken men drowning in their own blood.
“Please spare us, Alpha!” They hurriedly shifted their loyalty when they saw their lives ending.
