Gold Digger vs Gold Saver My Man's Double Life novel Chapter 114

Chapter 16

Darius led me away from the banquet hall while Lydia screamed behind us.

“You’ll regret this!”

I couldn’t help but giggle.

“She looked like she’d seen a ghost.”

Darius looked aggrieved.

“You’re still in the mood to laugh. Claire, you should register our marriage soon, or I really have no sense of security with all these random people causing trouble.”

His eyes started reddening again as he spoke.

Complained of a headache, seemed a bit drunk, asked me to take him back to his hotel room to rest.

In a daze, I half-resisted, half-gave in, and got tangled up with him for another night.

Whatever-this had happened enough times that I was getting used to it.

This past year, Darius had been fighting his family tooth and nail.

The Blackwood family only had one son. The more capable Darius proved himself, the more his father valued him, the less willing he was to let go, wanting to maximize his commercial value.

Darius threatened his father that if they kept pressuring him to marry, he’d go get a vasectomy immediately.

Darius’s dad had to back down.

“Even if it’s not Lydia, at least pick someone from a suitable family.”

Darius: “If you want to drive me to death, why bother bringing me back? I might as well die now.”

Darius’s mom tried to mediate.

“Dad just wants what’s best for you.”

“Oh honey, it’s not easy for our son either. Just let him choose someone he likes. I think Claire Morrison isn’t that bad-I heard she’s doing quite well in Austin?”

Dad Blackwood: “What could she possibly accomplish?”

Darius: “Her company’s going public.”

Chapter 16

Dad Blackwood: “Huh?”

I’d achieved something.

Pretty big in ordinary people’s eyes, still not quite enough for the Blackwood family.

But it gave me sufficient courage.

I accepted Darius’s proposal.

Darius looked thrilled.

“You’re not afraid of my parents anymore? Not worried about suffering in wealthy family life?”

I smiled and shook my

head.

“I’m still afraid.”

“But now I have armor.”

Darius looked deeply moved.

“Claire.”

“I’m not done yet-I’m staying in Austin. Not going to New York, not living with your parents.”

Darius:

“Yes, yes, yes.”

“Fine, fine, fine.”

“I’ll listen to whatever you say.”

On our registration day, Darius grinned like an idiot.

“We won!”
