Chapter 296: OATH OF SILENCE

HARU couldn’t feel an ounce of hostility from Ryu Sungbin.

But that didn’t mean he let his guard down, of course.

After all, this was no longer the Ryu Sungbin that they all knew.

That and because I don’t like this guy.

"Why are you and Ki Gayoon being careless?" Ryu Sungbin asked in a frustrated voice. "It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Moon Noa and Noh Yuno are two of the most important Guides in the world. You’re not stupid, so I’m sure you already know that. So, why are you exposing them for the world to see?"

Haaah.

This was the thing that Haru hated the most about Ryu Sungbin.

I’m glad Noa-san isn’t with me. If he were, I’m sure his heart would waver again.

"Gayoon-san and I know what we’re doing— we know how to protect our Guides," Haru said, scoffing at Ryu Sungbin’s ’concern.’ "We don’t need you to teach us how to protect them."

"You clearly don’t know what you’re doing, though."

"It’s a little too late to pretend that you care, Sungbin-san."

"I’m not pretending."

"That’s even worse then," Haru said, his voice remaining cold. "Will you still claim that you care about Noa-san after you betrayed him? You dumped him for another man."

Ryu Sungbin glared at Haru. "You don’t know the real story, so shut the fuck up."

"Oh, I’m sure there’s a story as to why you left Noa-san. But will that change anything?"

"Stop talking—"

"Stop lurking around Noa-san," Haru said sternly, cutting off Ryu Sungbin. "I know how to take care of my Guide, thank you very much."

"Noa Hyung isn’t your Guard, you delusional bastard."

Haru was about to talk back, but the traitor wasn’t done running his mouth yet.

"And what do you mean you know how to take care of your Guide? You couldn’t even save Osaki Shohei."

That was crossing the line.

Haru immediately lost his cool, closing the distance between him and Ryu Sungbin in the blink of an eye.

He pulled out his sword, intending to cut down the traitor with just one movement.

However, Ryu Sungbin was quick to create a wall of fire between the two of them.

Haru’s sword almost melted upon contact, and he knew he would burn to ashes as well if the flame touched him.

Hence, he stepped back– clicking his tongue, annoyed.

Is it just me, or is Sungbin-san’s flame stronger than now?

"I’m not here to fight, so don’t provoke me."

Haru scoffed after hearing that. "Do you have a legitimate reason for showing up here other than stalking Noa-san?"

"Tell Ki Gayoon to hurry up and steal the cloning device."

Haru just raised an eyebrow.

To be honest, he had no idea about what Ryu Sungbin was talking about. But he was curious since Ki Gayoon was brought up. Hence, he kept his mouth shut while pretending that he didn’t care.

But, in reality, he was using his silence to make Ryu Sungbin talk more.

Silence is an effective tool if you want your enemies to talk more without appearing eager.

And it worked.

"Tell Ki Gayoon that the cloning device is being powered by Noa Hyung’s heart..."

Ryu Sungbin trailed off, and then he clutched his chest as if he couldn’t breathe.

Ah, so that’s his limit.

Haru could tell that Ryu Sungbin was tied under some sort of Oath of Silence.

He’d die if he talked about something taboo.

If that was the case, then...

Should I make Sungbin-san talk more to kill him?

Leehan is Noa-san’s bodyguard, so it’s not impossible to think that Leehan followed Noa-san here.
