I felt a soft squeeze on my shoulder. A soft hum escaped from my lips as I slowly opened my eyes. I looked outside the window before Levi repeated himself.
“We’re here, Hope.”
We had arrived at the arena.
After that morning at the hotel, we made love again for the second time… and the third time.
And fine, for the fourth time.
Levi was absolutely insatiable. It felt like we had left a piece of ourselves in every corner of that penthouse suite, our passion lingering long after we had finally forced ourselves to leave.
Then, when we were about to check out, we ran into Carmen and her friends. Naturally, I had to look completely fucked when we met them, my neck decorated with fresh marks that were impossible to hide.
Still, judging by the expressions on their faces, it only seemed to deepen their embarrassment. They didn’t bother me at all after that, and honestly, I couldn’t bring myself to care anymore.
I had to say goodbye to my parents for a while, but they somehow looked sadder that Levi was leaving than they were about me.
However, Levi said he would arrange for my parents to watch the finals.
At first, I tried to refuse because I knew it would take a lot of effort-and probably a lot of money-but, of course, Levi managed to convince me.
He said, and I quote, “Maybe you were used to not getting treated well back then, but be prepared to get spoiled by me.”
Honestly, I couldn’t say anything after that. That plan was already set in stone.
“Crap, the media is also at the back entrance,” he muttered before reaching out to hold my hand. “Is that alright with you?”
I smiled at him and intertwined our fingers together.
“Is there any other entrance?”
“No,” he answered with a small frown. “But maybe we should ask the new owner just that.”
I shook my head.

“Let’s just head inside, Levi.”
“Okay,” he muttered softly. “Stay close, okay?”
I let out a deep breath and nodded.

He opened the door, and the media immediately swarmed toward him. Thankfully, the guards pushed them back while he reached over and opened the door wider for me.
The moment I stepped out, the flashes burst around us. The lights and relentless clicking became even more frantic.
The Glaciers were an incredibly hot topic right now because of Margaret’s departure. And, of course, someone from my high school batch had posted a photo of Levi and me, somehow confirming our relationship before either of us had ever said a word.
I instinctively lowered my head because my eyes were already starting to ache from all the flashes.
Questions were thrown at us from every direction.
“Why did Margaret Tundra leave the team?”
“Is it true that you’re in a relationship?”
“Levi, one word, please! How does it feel to break the record?”
“Say something about your relationship!”
I was surprised when Levi suddenly stopped walking, causing all of us to stop with him. I looked at him in confusion.
“This is just to stop them from asking,” he muttered quietly.
With that, he raised our intertwined hands.
My breath hitched.
“Yes, I’m in a happy relationship,” he said without hesitation, emphasizing the word ‘happy.’ “That’s all you’re going to get from me. Don’t ask any more questions.”
With that, he pulled me along again, walking even faster until we finally made it inside the rink.
I looked at him as we walked side by side.
How could I love this man so much?
“What?” he asked, noticing my stare. “Are you hurt?”
I smiled to myself.
I guess this was the reason. He was just so considerate of everything. Even when the attention was on him, he

somehow found a way to make sure I was okay.
I shook my head.
“No, I’m not. Should we go meet the new owner?”
He nodded.
With that, we started walking toward Margaret’s office. Her old office, that is.

Levi had told me that he had arranged a meeting with the new owner, but even he still didn’t know who he or she was.
All I could ask for was that they were kinder than Margaret.
Although… That would only be the bare minimum, wouldn’t it?
We finally arrived in front of the office, and for some reason, I felt my stomach tighten with nerves.
I guess that, even if Levi wanted me back on the team, my future still depended on whoever had bought the franchise.
Levi knocked on the door, and a familiar voice answered.
“Come in!”
My brows furrowed.
Levi opened the door, and immediately I realized why the voice sounded so familiar.
Beth stood by the window, carefully spraying water over the plants. She looked at us before setting the spray bottle down.
“You’re here?” Beth asked.
“Hmm,” Levi hummed as he sat on one of the chairs. I took the seat beside him. “Is the new owner in? I told
them I would come.”
I stayed quiet and simply watched Beth.
She cleared her throat nervously before smoothing down the wrinkles on her skirt.
That was when it hit me.
I shot up from my chair so abruptly that its legs scraped loudly against the floor.
Both of them looked at me with confusion, but I couldn’t contain the excitement bubbling inside me.
“It’s you, Beth!” I exclaimed. “You’re the new owner of the Glaciers!”
