Hunter practically threw herself at Sienna, her eyes wide.
Scanned her like an X-ray.
"That bastard Grant Gauthier! You're divorced, and he still treats you like this? Who the hell does he think he is?"
"And the Gauthier family is a damn snake pit. Don't you ever go back there!"
She got angrier as she spoke, chest heaving, wanting to storm the Gauthier estate to beat up that hypocrite.
Sienna handed her a glass of water, comforting her. "Don't be mad. Here, drink some water and calm down."
Hunter put the glass aside, serious. "If I hadn't seen the news, how much longer were you going to hide this from me?"
"It's all in the past," she said calmly.
But the calmer she was, the angrier Hunter got.
Someone she treasured so much was treated like trash by that jerk—it was unforgivable!
No wonder Sienna had disappeared from the art world for so many years. It was all because of that scum. Without him, she would have been famous long ago.
To think Grant had recently sent her an invitation to collaborate. Now, the thought just made her sick.
Disgusting!
Her gaze shifted back to Sienna. Seeing her slender frame, Hunter's anger deflated, replaced entirely by heartache.
She sat across from her, softening her voice. "Alright, I'll drop it. Just don't put too much pressure on yourself."
"There's no pressure," Sienna replied.
Hunter stared at her for a few seconds, unable to read any emotion on her face. It wasn't a facade of strength; it was genuine, unbothered peace.
She had thought Sienna would be in pain for a while, but it seemed she was much stronger than she imagined.
Relieved, Hunter pulled a document from her briefcase and placed it on the coffee table.
"Let's get down to business."
Sienna looked down at it.
"The Emerging Voices exhibition opens the day after tomorrow," Hunter said, switching to her crisp, professional mode.
Aside from The Chrysalis Broken, there were two other paintings in the room, equally breathtaking.
Hunter was so stunned she gasped in awe.
She walked into the studio, crouching down to study the details of The Scarlet Bloom, her fingers hovering an inch above the canvas, too afraid to touch it.
"Any one of these three paintings is enough to blow the competition out of the water!"
"Oh, right, I should remind you of something," her expression turned subtle. "Lyla Lennox also signed up."
Sienna just gave a soft "hmm," her expression unbothered.
"She used The Gauthier Group's sponsor resources for the green channel. Her booth is in Hall One, Zone A, right facing the entrance—theoretically the spot with the highest foot traffic."
Hunter smirked. "I had someone look into her submission. The quality... well, let's just say it would barely be average at an undergrad senior showcase."
Sienna offered no comment.
Seeing her utterly unfazed, Hunter laughed.
"True, a homewrecker isn't worth your attention." she tapped the folder in her hand. "For the next couple of days, just get some good rest. When it opens the day after tomorrow, the entire city's art circle will be watching K's comeback debut."
