Sienna finally stopped what she was doing and looked up, her gaze landing on Lucas Lowery.

Only then did she realize that Susan was standing there, clutching an object high in the air, her face twisted in malice as she prepared to bring it down on Sienna's head.

Lucas didn't waste a single movement. He simply raised his hand and precisely clamped down on Susan's descending wrist.

His grip didn't seem forceful, yet it held her as immovably as an iron vice.

"Ah!" Susan cried out in pain, the object slipping from her grasp and clattering to the floor.

"You!" Susan gasped. Remembering the last time Lucas had appeared here, the color instantly drained from her face.

"Did I not warn you," Lucas said coldly, "that if I ever caught you bullying Sienna again, I'd make you disappear?"

"I... I..." Susan stammered, paralyzed by the glacial chill in his eyes. "I didn't! She came here causing trouble herself, it's her own fault..."

"Oh? Is that so?" A faint, dangerous smirk touched the corner of Lucas's lips.

He shifted his grip slightly, and the sickening crunch of dislocating bone echoed down the hallway.

Susan let out a bloodcurdling scream that shattered the quiet of the villa.

"Mr. Lowery... my hand!" Her knees buckled from the agony, and she collapsed onto the floor, cold sweat drenching her wrinkled face.

Lucas released her. He took a wet wipe from a nearby table, methodically cleaned his fingertips, and casually tossed it onto Susan's face.

A split second later, two bodyguards in black suits charged through the door. They flanked Susan, hauled her up by her arms, and began dragging her out.

Susan panicked completely. Her legs gave out, leaving her dragging along the floor. "What are you doing! Let me go! Lyla! Grant! Help me!"

Her wails grew fainter as they hauled her away, finally fading entirely outside. The courtyard fell back into a dead silence.

Lyla Lennox stood there, watching helplessly as Susan was dragged off. Her heart pounded frantically in her chest. The cut on her forehead was still seeping blood, causing a throbbing mix of pain and pure terror.

But then she remembered who she was looking at: the head of The Lowery Group, a man of the exact same untouchable status as Grant Gauthier. If she could sink her hooks into him, she could turn everything around.

With that thought, she quickly composed herself.

Lyla reached up, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear while deliberately arching her back. She let the collar of her robe slip open a fraction more, exposing the luminous skin of her chest.

"Mr. Lowery, please don't hold a grudge against the hired help," she cooed, forcing a sweet, breathy tone. "She simply couldn't stand Sienna's arrogant, overbearing attitude."

Hearing this, Lucas furrowed his brow slightly.

Lyla misread his expression as disgust for Sienna, eagerly seizing the opportunity to add fuel to the fire.

"Honestly, Sienna has always been like this. Grant and I have suffered through her temper countless times."

"Not only is she a divorcee, but she's sickly and incredibly toxic. And worst of all, she's currently pregnant."

She let her gaze deliberately drift toward Sienna's stomach, her eyes brimming with unfiltered disdain and contempt.

"I know you're just having a bit of fun with her, but if you're looking for a companion, you should really be looking at me."

"I'm young, untainted, and incredibly obedient. I would never cause problems for you the way she does."

Lyla stepped closer to Lucas as she spoke, gazing up at him with a cloying, desperate attempt to flaunt her assets.

Lucas finally turned his gaze toward her, though he looked at her as if she were a piece of worthless trash.

"Young? Untainted? You?" He let out a low chuckle, the sound dripping with naked mockery.
