Lyla frantically beat her fists against the locked bedroom door. She slammed her hands so hard that her manicured nails cracked and bled, but she completely ignored the pain.

Knowing there was a man and a woman alone in that room, combined with the passionate scene she had just witnessed, she was utterly convinced they were tearing each other's clothes off right at that moment.

The toxic fire of jealousy burned away every last shred of her sanity, and the curses flying from her mouth grew increasingly vile.

Meanwhile, a luxury sedan cruised smoothly toward the hillside villa.

Grant leaned lazily back against the leather seat, his long fingers casually tracing the screen of his phone.

Sienna's soft, pleading confession—"I need you and only you"—still echoed in his ears, lifting the dark cloud that had been hovering over him for days.

But then he remembered how clingy and desperately in love Lyla usually was, and he worried she might start throwing a jealous tantrum.

He figured he needed to set some ground rules so she wouldn't use his favor as an excuse to disrespect Sienna.

He dialed Lyla's number. It rang over half a dozen times before it was finally answered.

"Grant..." Lyla's voice was thick with congestion, hitching with a suppressed sob.

Grant assumed she was throwing a fit because Sienna had returned to the house.

His brow furrowed in immediate annoyance. "Why are you crying?" he demanded sternly. "It's just Sienna going back. What's the big deal?"

"She is still my legal wife, after all. You need to be more gracious about this, understand? No matter what happens between her and me, you will always have a place by my side."

"For my sake, you have to learn to get along with her. Got it?"

The line went dead silent for two seconds before erupting into a shrill accusation.

"You want me to be gracious? Grant, she's in a bedroom right now hooking up with Lucas Lowery!"

Grant's face instantly darkened, a dangerous flash of hostility crossing his eyes. "What kind of nonsense are you spewing?" he barked coldly.

"I'm not making it up!"

Lyla shrieked, sounding utterly victimized. "I saw it with my own two eyes! They even locked the door! Sienna is panting in there, and their clothes are probably scattered everywhere!"

"Grant, that bitch played you! She calls you crying just to string you along, and the second she hangs up, she's jumping into bed with another man!"
