Hearing the notification, a faint smile finally grazed Sienna's lips.

A hot-and-cold approach was the perfect psychological weapon to shatter a man's sanity. Push him to the absolute brink of despair, then toss him a piece of candy, dragging him endlessly back and forth across the line between hope and ruin.

Even a normal man would completely crack under the pressure, let alone an arrogant, endlessly pampered prince like Grant.

To salvage his ridiculous, towering ego, he would do absolutely anything to prove he wasn't just discarded baggage. He would kill to prove he was far more worthy of her affection than Lucas Lowery.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before Sienna ran into him again.

The afternoon sun spilled through the expansive café windows, throwing warm, golden squares across the hardwood floor.

Sienna was seated by the window, a brand-new sketchbook open in front of her. Her pencil glided effortlessly across the page, capturing the sycamore tree outside.

Having tracked down her location, Grant had shown up uninvited.

The moment he stepped into the café, his eyes locked onto Sienna. He was just about to march over when Lucas suddenly materialized out of nowhere.

Forced to pivot, Grant grabbed a nearby table, doing everything in his power to keep a low profile.

"Sorry to keep you waiting."

Lucas appeared holding a stunning bouquet of red roses, their petals still glistening with fresh dew. He casually slid into the seat beside her and offered her the flowers.

Sienna looked up, accepting the bouquet and taking a soft breath of their fragrance.

"They're beautiful."

Lucas leaned in slightly, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, his fingertips lightly grazing her skin.

"I passed by a florist. The clerk mentioned that today's dew-kissed roses were meant for a very specific kind of person."

Sienna offered him a soft smile.

From the table diagonally behind them came the sharp, grating clink of porcelain.

Grant was gripping his ceramic coffee mug so tightly it was a miracle it hadn't shattered into dust.

A specific kind of person? Bullshit!

Who the hell did Lucas think he was?!

He wanted nothing more than to storm over there and rip those sickeningly bright red roses to shreds.
