Late at night, half a month later, a faint noise jolted Sienna awake.

She opened her eyes; the only light in the pitch-black studio was the pale moonlight filtering through the window.

There was that sound again.

A faint, rhythmic tapping coming from the direction of the glass.

Sienna held her breath, slipping quietly out of bed and creeping to the window.

Outside, a dark silhouette clung to the exterior wall. Catching the moonlight, she recognized the face—it was Archie, Lucas's man.

Archie gestured for her to step back.

Sienna quickly retreated a few steps, watching as Archie used specialized tools to pop the electronic lock on the window. It silently swung open just a crack.

"Ms. Sawyer," Archie kept his voice hushed. "Mr. Lowery sent me to get you."

Sienna's heart raced. "Now?"

"Yes. Boss isn't here tonight. He went to the underground exchange in the South District to handle an emergency." Archie pulled out a micro-earpiece and handed it to her. "This is a comms unit. Mr. Lowery will be guiding us the whole way."

Sienna took the earpiece and put it in, immediately hearing Lucas's deep voice.

"Sienna, trust me. I'm getting you out."

Without hesitation, Sienna quickly threw on some dark activewear and followed Archie out the window.

Outside was a sheer drop from the 23rd floor.

Archie had already set up professional climbing ropes, anchoring them to the roof's load-bearing structure.

"Hold on tight," Archie gestured for her to position her back against his.

Sienna took a deep breath, letting Archie secure them both together with the safety harness.

A second later, the two began rapidly rappelling down the exterior of the building.

The night wind was biting, slicing against her face like a knife.

Sienna squeezed her eyes shut, fighting off the dizzying sensation of freefall as her fingers gripped the harness in a death hold.

"Don't be scared, Sienna," Lucas's gentle voice sounded in her ear. "Just three more floors to the ground."

Suddenly, Archie halted in his tracks.

Sienna opened her eyes and saw flashlight beams sweeping back and forth across the parking lot below.
