I’m sitting out on the deck of the beach house with Jace, Daxter, and Gavin, each of us holding ice–cold Coors in our hands. We watch Maisie, Summer, and Maren laughing and splashing around in the

ocean.

“We really have some incredible women in our lives,” Daxter says casually.

I smile and glance at him. “So, how are you enjoying being the third in your relationship?” I ask.

“I love it. Those two know exactly how to make a guy feel appreciated.”

I turn my attention to Gavin. “What about you? Scar told me you were all pretty wild when she first met you. Now it looks like everyone’s settling into relationships. Do you ever miss the friends–with–benefits thing you all had?” I ask, genuinely curious. I know he and Scar were especially close before Jace and I came into the picture.

“Not even a little,” he replies. “Sex with those girls was intense and fun, but that’s all it ever was. What I have with Maren is on a completely different level.”

again, so am I–Summer and Maisie are incredible. I honestly think they’re going to be my first loves.”

Jace and I raise our eyebrows before looking at Gavin, who nods in agreement.

“It’s the same with Maren,” Gavin adds. “She’s my first real relationship. I’ve spent years being a fuckboy. She’s confident as hell, she’s adventurous, and after last night, she’s seriously confident in

bed.” He flashes a dark, satisfied grin.

“So where are Natalie and Dylan? And where did Scar go?” Daxter asks.

“We’re not sure,” I answer. “Natalie texted Scar this morning saying she needed her and that she was at home. Something went down between her and Dylan last night. He took off early today, saying he wanted to be ready when Scar messaged him. He told me he’s working tomorrow and Tuesday, but he plans to ask the Chief for time off. Scar also accidentally told me that Dylan wants to share Natalie

with his brothers.”

“Shut the fuck up–seriously?” Gavin says.

I nod.

Daxter and Gavin both grunt and let out low whistles.

My phone starts ringing, and when I see the caller ID, I smile–it’s my girl.

“Hey, baby,” I say warmly. The moment I hear her crying and saying Brennan found her, I’m on my feet and sprinting inside. I grab a t–shirt and pull it over my head while searching for my truck keys, nearly colliding with Jace.

“We’ll be there soon,” I tell her urgently. “We’re on our way. I love you.”

“What the hell happened?” Jace demands as he throws on a shirt.
