Chapter 166 I Can’t Wait to Get inside You

Oh, shit. A grin spreads across my face before I can stop it. She is going to be mortified. I watch as Scar dances with Gavin, and laughter bursts out of me uncontrollably. She dances beautifully and throws herself into it completely. I glance at Dylan to see his reaction. The laughter dies instantly in my throat. He is staring at me intensely. His eyes burn with desire–and something else I can’t quite identify.

“Is everything okay?” I murmur.

“You have the prettiest laugh. It sounds like bells. Do you want to take a walk with me, little mama?”

“Yes, I do,” I answer, surprising even myself. I’m not sure what comes over me. Maybe it’s just pure

horniness. He looks dangerously irresistible.

Before we can actually leave, though, we have to stop Jace from beating the hell out of Gavin. He’s

furious, consumed by jealousy. I lay into him, explaining exactly how everything looks from Scar’s

perspective, until Dylan finally manages to calm him down. Once Jace storms off, I turn back to Dylan

and reach for his hand.

We stroll along the shoreline, and the tide rolls in gently, brushing against our feet as it comes and goes. He starts telling me about his two brothers, both adopted. One of them is older, the other younger. He explains that the three of them are incredibly close and that they share nearly everything in their lives–everything except their underwear. That comment makes me laugh out loud.

I tell him about my childhood in Vegas and how deeply I disliked growing up there. He puts me at ease, and without realizing it, I begin to let my guard down around him. I mention that my relationship with my mom isn’t close, though I don’t go into the reasons behind it. He tells me that he and his brothers only ever had each other. No parents at all.

He explains that they’re orphans who were raised in a terrible environment, though he avoids giving details. Still, I can tell it must have been bad. His brothers‘ names are Clayton and Logan. Logan works as a high school math teacher, while Clayton is a security specialist and a former Marine.

“He meets tons of celebrities and politicians,” he says. “He’s constantly traveling too. And no matter Where he goes, he always brings something back for Logan and me. Like I said, we’re insanely close.”

‘I study his face as he talks. He keeps repeating that sentiment. He shifts to telling me about his job at the fire station, and I find the stories genuinely fascinating. I even think I could turn something like this into a community feature and sell it to a local paper or magazine.

When we return to the bonfire, Scar is surrounded by her guys, and they’re all tangled up with each other. Someone shouts that we should take a picture, so I step beside Scer and smile while Dylan moves in next to me, slipping his arm around my waist.

For the rest of the night, we eat hot dogs along with all the food Scar prepared. I completely overindulge in the pineapple empanadas she made just for me and even feed a few bites to Dylan. I drink more than I probably should, and I can’t seem to keep my hands off him. His kisses feel intoxicating.

He leads me over to his vehicle, and we climb into the back seat together. I straddle him while we make out. I’m wearing a red one–piece swimsuit with carefully placed cutouts and a pair of black cotton shorts. I can feel how hard he is, and I start grinding against him without even thinking. He groans into my mouth as we kiss, his hands roaming over my exposed back.

“I fucking love how your skin feels,” he says. “Let me take you back to my place tonight. Please?”

I don’t pause for even a second. I nod immediately. I’m completely turned on. We rush back toward the bonfire to grab our things. I can’t find Scar, so I text her to let her know I’m leaving with Dylan. He takes my hand and pulls me toward his truck with obvious impatience. I laugh, and he gives me a heated

look.

“Hang on, little mama,” he says. “I’m about to break a few laws. I can’t wait to get inside you.”
