Scar’s POV
Dear Diary,
Hanging out with some friends.
der 109
On Monday, Mama and I go out for a little shopping spree. But then, Hale surprises us all–he
announces he’s closing up his shop. It turns out he, Papa, and Mama are all heading back to Spain soon. I’ve never seen my dad so genuinely happy. He looks years younger, like he’s just stepped into a
new chapter of his life. Mama is glowing beside him, and Hale, with that smile that won’t fade, is right there with them. I’m happy for them all, really, and so are my guys.
Of course, things aren’t all perfect. My dad, Hale, and the guys are all huddled together, deep in
conversation, their heads bent low. Mama and I, tired of being sidelined, decide it’s time to go off on
our own and do something for ourselves.
“What do you think they’ve been talking so much about?” I ask her, dlancing back at the group of men
lost in their own world.

Mama chuckles softly, shaking her head. “Honestly, who knows? If I had to guess, your father and
Hale are probably getting advice about… our new dynamic.”
“And how are you feeling about this new dynamic, Mama?”
She hesitates for a second, as though gathering her thoughts. “I was scared at first. Your father is the
only man I’ve ever been with. But now… now I understand some of the things he’s been preparing me
for through our marriage.”
“Like what?” I ask, my curiosity piqued.
Mama blushes, looking away. “Scar, no child wants to hear about their parents and… sex.”
I can’t help but laugh. “Ohhhh, so he trained you,” I tease lightly, nudging her with my elbow. It reminds
me of Gavin helping me in some… more intimate ways.
She turns beet red, eyes wide, and I burst out laughing.
“It’s okay, Mama. I had a friend help me stretch my… backdoor,” I add with a mischievous grin.
Her eyes widen further, and she quickly stammers out, “Yes, well… there was that. Your father also rid me of my gag reflex.”

I stop dead in my tracks, my mouth hanging open. “Okay, fine, you’re right, didn’t need to know that.”
And then, she laughs, a big, carefree laugh that makes me shake my head. “It’s okay, Mama,” I say, still giggling. “You’re just too much.”
We go on with our shopping after that, and I decide to swing by Maisie’s boutique. I haven’t seen her or Summer in a while, so it’s nice to catch up. After hugs and pleasantries, I introduce Mama to Maisie, and of course, Maisie offers her the 50% off deal since she’s family. Mama is practically glowing from the gesture.
I
“What have you been up to? I miss you guys,” I ask Maisie, sitting down with her at the counter.
“Well, I just got back from Paris visiting my parents. Summer came with me for a bit, then went to visit hers. I haven’t seen Gavin in forever. And your mom is lovely, Scar,” Maisie says, with a warm smile.
“Thank you. She has this new glow to her. Papa finally convinced Hale to join them and my mother in a throuple,” I say, almost giddy to share the news.
“Good for them,” Maisie says. “Summer and I went on that date with Daxter. He’s such a cutie, I really liked him. Summer, though, became so shy around him. Couldn’t stop blushing. It was adorable. We’re seeing him again this weekend. We were thinking of taking him to my beach house in Clearwater. You
guys want to come? I’m inviting Maren and Gavin too, if I can get a hold of them.”
I smile, feeling that familiar excitement stir in my chest. “Let me talk to the guys, but I’m in. Are you
okay with Natalie and Dylan too?”
“Of course! The more, the merrier. Just BYOB though–I’m not sure if my bar’s stocked. I’ll have to call my butler, Johnny. My house sleeps 22 people.”
“You have a butler named Johnny?” I ask, raising an eyebrow.
“Well, it’s Jonathan, but I’ve known him since I was six, so I’ve always called him Johnny.”
I can’t help but laugh. “How rich are you? Is it rude for me to ask?”
“How wealthy are you? Would it be considered impolite if I ask that?”
“In
many situations, it certainly is, but since you are one of my closest friends, I do not mind. Well, let
me think. My parents are multi–billionaires, and their wealth comes from family money that is very old. However, none of that belongs to me–at least not while they are living. And even after that, I am fairly certain they plan to leave most of their fortune to different charitable organizations. That is perfectly fine with me. We are not particularly close. When I turn eighteen, I receive an inheritance of fifty million dollars from my grandmother on my father’s side. I place half of that amount with the financial advisor who manages my father’s assets. He manages to grow that twenty–five million into one hundred million by the time I reach twenty–one. Today, that sum is considerably larger. I also hold ownership of

several properties across the state. Last year, upon my twenty–fifth birthday, I inherit another fifty million, this time from my grandmother on my mother’s side. She does not want to be overshadowed
by my father’s mother. Both of my grandmothers are still alive, incidentally, and their rivalry continues even now. They both adore me intensely. I have attempted to discourage them, but they are determined. I suppose I will likely receive more when they die. I simply hope that will not happen for a long time. So, based on the most recent review of my investments and real estate, I believe my net
worth is around half a billion dollars.”
“Goodness, I am completely unaware. I really respect you for continuing to pursue your passion and working as a model.”
