He Cheated I Rose Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 258

**A Promise Hidden in the Quiet Rain by Adrian Hale**

**Chapter 258: Arthur’s Fury**

Arthur could have tied the knot a dozen times over, and frankly, it wouldn’t have bothered her in the least.

She had made it abundantly clear before—let them do whatever they wished, but for heaven’s sake, keep her name out of their mouths. She had no desire to be entangled in their chaotic world. She wasn’t interfering with their lives, so why couldn’t they just let her live in peace?

If they were hell-bent on ruining their own lives, that was their prerogative. She had no intention of standing in their way.

But did Arthur even have a clue about the latest news?

Sure, he could be oblivious at times, but this? This was beyond ridiculous.

Chloe felt a chill run through her as her thoughts turned darker. It wouldn’t be long before the media descended upon this story like vultures.

She had warned them, time and again—don’t push her. But they never seemed to learn their lesson.

With Arthur at the helm, the Myers family was spiraling downwards.

And Charles’s health was deteriorating by the day. She needed to act quickly. Zachary had already reached out to a top-tier doctor overseas. Once they finalized the schedule, Charles would finally receive the surgery he desperately needed.

Whether Arthur liked it or not, she was determined to see that it happened.

Just then, her phone buzzed, breaking her train of thought. She glanced at the screen and saw Eugene’s name flash across it. Her expression hardened. She hadn’t anticipated his call would come so swiftly.

She answered, and before she could utter a word, his low voice cut through the silence.

“Some trash is asking for a beating. Want me to handle it?”

“If I needed help with something so trivial,” she replied, her voice steady, “I’d be pretty pathetic, wouldn’t you agree? Let’s see just how far they’re willing to go.”

“I’m here for you. Whatever you need—just say the word,” Eugene responded, his tone shifting to something softer, more intimate. “And I mean anything.”

“Mhm.” She ended the call quietly, her mind racing.

Before she could gather her thoughts, Robert rang her up. Then Zachary. Even Brian checked in, concern lacing his voice.

It seemed everyone had gotten wind of the news.

Calling her a homewrecker!

This had to be the brainchild of either Jennifer or Madilyn, right? A few cleverly crafted words, and they thought they could pin all the blame on her?

Make her the villain while Jennifer played the innocent victim?

How could his mother do something like this? When had he and Jennifer ever agreed to such a union? What was going through her mind? And why was Jennifer playing along with this madness?

Arthur gripped his phone tightly, his knuckles turning white. “Home. Step on it!” he commanded the driver.

The car surged forward toward the Myers Manor. As he sat in silence, his thoughts churned, his anger simmering just beneath the surface.

He needed to confront his mother, to demand answers about why she had orchestrated this chaos.

The car raced back to the Myers Manor, and as soon as Arthur stepped out, he was met with a scene that only fueled his fury. Staff were hauling in piles of items—big and small—even brand-new bedding sets.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Arthur strode straight into the villa.

“Mr. Myers!” a maid greeted him with a respectful nod.

Arthur ignored her and barreled past, finding Madilyn supervising the staff, gesturing emphatically to various spots around the room.

“Be careful. Don’t damage anything. Keep your eyes open. These items are expensive,” she instructed, her tone sharp.

“Mom, what on earth are you doing?” Arthur’s voice sliced through the air like a knife.

The lively chatter in the room came to an abrupt halt. Madilyn turned to face him, her eyes widening at the sight of his furious expression, and let out a dismissive snort. “What does it look like? I’m preparing for your wedding.”
