Chapter 588 The Bingham Debt
Fintahed
“The real question now is figuring out why Chloe is doing all this,” Landon said, spreading his hands in frustration. “There’s no clear reason for her to act this way–what’s really going on between her and the Binghams?”
“The Binghams,” Eugene repeated under his breath, a cold sharpness flashing in his eyes. “I don’t care who they are. If they stand between her and me, I won’t hold back.”
Landon watched Eugene’s hardened expression and stayed quiet. He knew Eugene was past the point of just being upset–he was truly furious.
Something that had been held down for too long was finally about to break loose, and that kind of force was nothing to take lightly.
Everyone could see how obsessed Eugene was with Chloe. From the very beginning, every move he’d made was just to create a chance for the two of them to be together.
Chloe, you’d better not let him down.

Bingham Mansion.
Carl stepped out of the car first. Noah and Amber moved forward to help him, but he gently waved them off.
Instead, he turned back toward the car, his eyes fixed on Chloe with clear concern. “Chloe, are you sure you won’t stay? This is your home, too.”
In the back seat, Chloe remained seated with calm elegance. She offered a faint, polite smile. “Thank you, Carl.”
Hearing that, Carl leaned in closer. “Chloe, the Binghams have always stood behind you. Don’t ever forget
that.”
“I won’t.”
“Whatever you need–anything at all–you come to us. No matter what happens, promise me you’ll remember that, alright?” Carl’s voice was urgent now. Without thinking, he reached out and pressed his hand against the window glass, holding it firmly.
Chloe met his gaze, her smile softening slightly. “I should get going now, Carl. I’ll stop by another time”
“Chloe!” Carl called out again, more insistently this time.
The engine revved. The driver pulled away without hesitation, ignoring the fact that Carl’s hand was still resting against the glass.
“Dad, let go–now!”
Noah rushed over and grabbed Carl’s arm, trying to pull him back from the window.

But Carl held on, his eyes locked on the figure inside the car as if there was still so much more to say. Slowly, the window began to rise.
Just as it was about to catch his fingers, Amber hurried over to help. Together, she and Noah managed to ease Carl’s hand away.
The window sealed shut, and the car sped off down the drive.
Amber watched until the taillights disappeared into the distance, then turned back to her father and brother. After a long pause, she asked quietly, “Dad, Noah… who were those people? Is Chloe in some kind of danger?”
Carl kept staring down the empty driveway, his expression growing somber.
Chloe was the one who had saved their family.
Years earlier, the Binghams had been on a vacation out west when Carl received an urgent call: a shipment of specialized medication had to be escorted to a remote treatment camp near the border, where thousands of patients were waiting.
Back then, his whole family had been with him–Amber and Noah, and his wife, Marie.
Lives were depending on that medicine. They set out immediately, but halfway there, they were ambushed.
That shipment was a target for plenty of dangerous groups, and the attackers weren’t about to let it reach the camp without a fight.
