He Cheated I Rose Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 682

Eugene was silent for a moment.

He had not expected Hogan to say something like that at a time like this.

Hogan noticed the hesitation in his eyes, and his tone immediately became harsher.

"You brat. If you know there's a hard fight waiting for you, then recover properly first."

"Only when your body can hold up will you be able to bring that girl back."

"Look at yourself now. If you rush out in this state and collapse halfway there, our enemies will laugh themselves sick once they hear about it."

Hogan's words sounded mocking, but his expression was deadly serious.

"The men of the Rosewood family may die on the battlefield."

"They may fall in the business world."

"But they do not die in such a useless, humiliating way."

Hearing the disdain in his father's voice, Eugene laughed instead.

"I will bring her back."

"Chloe has too much weighing on her."

Hogan looked at Eugene and finally told him the truth.

"This time, she wasn't taken by force."

"She left on her own."

Eugene fell quiet.

"She is Clo, the strongest operative in Silverash. She used to belong to them."

Eugene did not look surprised.

He had already guessed as much.

Chloe was too skilled.

Her reflexes, her methods, and everything she knew were far beyond what an ordinary person could possess.

From the moment they discovered her connection to Silverash, Eugene had known she must once have been part of that world.

"I know," he said with certainty. "I won't let Silverash control her again."

"You don't know a damn thing."

Hogan cut him off at once.

This time, Eugene was stunned.

"Chloe is loyal to the people she cares about. She remembers kindness. She values bonds more deeply than most people."

Hogan frowned as he thought it over.

After a long pause, he told Eugene everything Chloe had once shared with him.

"She owes Vincent her life."

The name fell between them heavily.

Hogan's voice softened after that.

"Chloe should not be in immediate danger at Silverash."

"At the very least, Vincent will not allow anyone there to hurt her."

"But when she left, your condition was still uncertain."

"She disappeared quietly, and before she left, she told Bruce those things."

"What we fear most is not that Vincent will hurt her."

"It's that she may choose to do something reckless herself."

Eugene did not speak.

He only lay there quietly.

Hogan said nothing more.

He rose from the chair, intending to leave Eugene alone for a while.

Just as he reached the door, Eugene called out to him.

Hogan stopped and turned around.

"Stop the extra medication."

Eugene's voice was calm.

"I know what I need to do."

Hogan looked at him for a moment.

Then he answered, "All right."

After that, he left the ward.

The medication that had been keeping Eugene sedated and controlling his emotions was stopped.

This time, Eugene did not rage.

He did not try to force himself out of bed either.
