Exactly a week after Anderson had been arrested for further investigation, Julia finally found me. She stood in front of the Sherman residence. In just a few days, her hair had become streaked with grey, and she was frail and emaciated.

When she saw me, she fell to her knees.

I kept going. “Last year, when my mom and dad passed away, you called me to offer your condolences. You said that from now on, I was a part of the Graham family.

“The very next second, you turned around and told Anderson that I was helpless without the Sherman family backing me up, and to rethink his decision to marry me. Should I play the recording?”
