He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 109

Franklin immediately froze.

Driven by a sudden surge of emotion, he had spoken impulsively and instantly regretted it.

But the words were already out, and there was no taking them back.

Felicity was utterly bewildered. "Franklin, what are you talking about? Why would you want to see her? You've always hated her!"

Irritated, Franklin growled, "Keep your mouth shut!"

Felicity felt completely wronged. Pouting, she dropped her head and turned her face away, acting childishly defiant.

Their father had passed away early, and their mother was in poor health, living in a sanatorium year-round. Franklin had practically raised her single-handedly.

With a ten-year age gap between them, he had served as both a father figure and a brother. Because of this, Felicity's feelings toward him were complicated.

She desperately wanted to be close to him, but that ten-year gap meant Franklin always looked at her like a child. She felt inherently inferior in his presence, and his word carried more weight than even their parents'.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. He was her own brother! He was supposed to protect her!

Why was he forcing her to apologize to a woman like Seraphina?!

Voice trembling with tears, she mumbled, "Stop acting like my brother, then! Go be Seraphina's brother if you care so much!"

Franklin was already drowning in his own messy thoughts. Hearing his sister's outburst, he forcibly reigned in his anger, his tone softening slightly. "I brought you here because you committed a crime. Look how young you are, and you're already hiring hitmen? I clearly gave you way too much allowance!"

Felicity retorted indignantly, "I did it for Lyra! Lyra is the only one who deserves to be with Pierce! Who does Seraphina think she is, stealing him away?"

"Stealing him away?" Franklin scoffed coldly. "You have absolutely no idea what happened between Pierce and Seraphina in the past. You were just a kid back then..."

"I'm not a kid anymore! Why do you always treat me like one? I'm almost twenty, an actual adult! I can date and get married!"
