He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 119

Seraphina hadn't slept this well in a very long time.

It was a dreamless, deep sleep, as if she had simply vanished from the face of the earth for a few hours.

Lana was slumped over the edge of the hospital bed, completely out cold.

When Silas arrived, he was carrying two breakfast bags in his hands.

"Seraphina, since you're on a liquid diet, I blended this multigrain porridge at home. I taste-tested it, and it's actually pretty good."

It was only after he spoke that he realized Lana was still asleep.

Lana groggily blinked her eyes open. Spotting Silas, her cheeks flushed bright red, and she shot up like a rocket. "Um... Morning, Silas."

Silas smiled warmly. "Morning. Sorry about that, did I wake you?"

"No, no! It's totally fine!"

Silas handed her the other bag. "This one's for you. Chicken breast and veggie sandwich, plus a slightly sweetened date soy milk. That's your usual, right?"

Lana's jaw practically hit the floor.

That was her exact go-to convenience store breakfast order, and she loved it.

"Store-bought stuff is full of preservatives, so making it at home is much healthier. Give it a try. I pan-fried the eggs myself this morning, and the soy milk is freshly blended."

Lana looked at him like he was a superhero. "Silas, you can cook too?!"

Silas casually cast a glance at Seraphina, who was looking at her young intern with a soft, affectionate smile. When he looked back at Lana, his eyes held the gentle warmth of an older colleague.

"I didn't know how to at first. But I had a friend who kept getting injured. I wanted to help her heal faster, so I slowly taught myself."

It didn't take a genius for Lana to put two and two together. Was this 'friend' actually her mentor?
