Silas let out a heavy sigh. "In this entire world, you're probably the only one who will ever remember her name. I recall you were the one who admitted her to the ER?"
Seraphina nodded. "Yes. I was the one who admitted her, but I was so busy writing my graduation thesis back then. You were actually the one who took care of her the most."
"Well, you were the one who asked me to," Silas replied gently. "You told me she was a pitiful girl and asked me to look after her as much as possible. You're my junior, and you were swamped with your thesis. I had to step up and cover for you at the hospital."
Seraphina looked at him. "Silas, her name was Kimberly Finch."
Silas looked slightly confused but nodded anyway.
"Finch, like the fragile little bird."
Silas smiled softly. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
"I just hope you can remember her name too," Seraphina said, her voice tinged with sorrow. "She had such a bitter life. Everyone ignored her. It was as if God himself couldn't see her. If one more person remembers her name, maybe her soul will find some comfort."
Silas nodded solemnly. "Alright, I'll remember it. Kimberly Finch. Let's eat first before the food gets cold."
He scooped up another spoonful, but before he could bring it to Seraphina's lips, the hospital room door was pushed open.
Pierce strode in, a chilling aura radiating from him.
Seraphina frowned in displeasure. "What's your problem now?"
Pierce's expression was thunderous. He looked straight at Silas. "Dr. Sterling, shouldn't you be busy? I can take care of my own wife. I won't be troubling you any further."
Silas set the food container down and slowly stood up, his tone equally unfriendly. "It's no trouble at all. If Mr. Prescott finds it troublesome, you're free to go tend to your other matters."
Pierce stared at him for a long moment before his gaze fell on the container resting on the bedside table.
He frowned. "What is this?"
