The kiss didn't last long.
Pierce launched another assault, and this time, whether caught off guard or simply too distracted, Caspian took a brutal, solid punch.
Pierce had completely snapped. Every strike was incredibly heavy, and every single blow targeted Caspian's most vulnerable spots.
If it wasn't the eyes or the back of the head, it was the jaw.
This was actually something Seraphina had taught him in the past.
The most fragile part of the human head is the jaw. It sits closest to the spine and the central nervous system.
The brain is protected by a thick skull, capable of withstanding blunt trauma, but a heavy blow to the jaw can cause temporary shock, neutralizing an attacker's ability to fight back, or even result in instant death.
Watching Caspian's reactions grow sluggish after a few hits, completely losing his ability to defend himself, Seraphina hurriedly yelled, "Pierce, stop!"
Pierce was seeing red. He was completely deaf to everything around him.
That was until a heavy object smashed into his back.
She had thrown it with force. The impact was far from light, and the edge of the helmet scraped the wound on his temple, causing blood to instantly gush out.
The helmet bounced off his back and went tumbling loudly across the pavement.
Seraphina screamed sharply, "Pierce, if you want to die, go do it yourself!"
She quickly ran over, crouching in front of Caspian with the baby still in her arms. She waved a hand in front of his face. "How are you doing? Can you see clearly? How many fingers?"
Caspian's face was completely covered in blood.
His eyelids were swollen so high he could barely open his eyes.
He flashed a bloody grin. "Seven!"
Seraphina was furious. Neither of these men had a single shred of sense.
The commotion inevitably drew the attention of the colleagues waiting for the ambulance nearby.
One of them recognized Seraphina and looked shocked. "Dr. Somerset? Is that you?"
Having just joined the State Medical Center, Seraphina wasn't entirely familiar with everyone yet, so she just nodded. "Yes, it's me."
"Do you... need some help?"
