Seraphina slowly turned her head to look at him, her tone calm and indifferent. "Did you bring back what I asked for?"
The rooster that lays eggs, and the flying pig.
Pierce felt a bit defeated, but he still held her tightly and ordered the staff, "Everyone, get out."
The servants filed out, the last one closing the door behind them.
For a moment, only the two of them remained in the massive room.
Pierce's lips lingered behind her ear, trying to awaken the memories of their passionate romance from three years ago.
Seraphina didn't resist, simply letting him hold her. Her eyes were hollow, her face devoid of any expression, like a soulless puppet.
Pierce laid her on the bed, his kisses trailing downward.
He tried even harder to stir ripples in her heart. After those scorching nights three years ago, he knew her body like the back of his hand.
But no matter how hard he tried, Seraphina remained completely unfazed.
He stopped, reaching out to gently stroke her cheek, his tone probing. "Why aren't you fighting back?"
Seraphina slowly opened her eyes, filled with nothing but coldness and numbness. Her voice was terrifyingly calm, as if she were talking about someone else. "The most important thing I've learned these past three years is not to fight back."
She paused, a faint, self-deprecating smirk tugging at her lips. "Just close your eyes, endure it, and it'll be over."
Hearing her words, it felt as though something ruthlessly pierced Pierce's heart, sending a sharp jolt of pain through him.
