He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 153

By the time Seraphina woke up, it was already noon the next day.

Her clothes had been changed into a fresh nightgown, and the bedsheets were brand new.

"I changed them for you."

Pierce was half-lying beside her, his left arm resting above her head, his right hand still holding hers, massaging her palm. "The sheets got dirty last night. I was worried you wouldn't be comfortable, so I changed everything."

Seraphina pulled her hand back and asked coldly, "Where's my phone?"

The smile on Pierce's face dimmed considerably. "Just focus on resting for now. I've already requested a long leave of absence for you from State Medical Center, so don't worry about it."

Without a doubt, he had confiscated her phone, too.

Seraphina remembered when they first got together, Pierce had this exact same recklessly domineering personality.

If she so much as smiled at another guy, he would be jealous for ages.

Back then, she loved him, so she found it sweet, feeling like she was the most important person in his world.

The current Pierce seemed exactly the same.

But neither of them were the Pierce and Seraphina of three years ago.

Her Pierce was already gone, his whereabouts unknown, and Seraphina had long died in the countless dark nights three years ago.

Seeing her stay silent, Pierce actively tried to tease her. "Are you hungry? What do you want to eat?"

"The Diamond Sutra."

He frowned slightly but still nodded. "Okay."

Soon, he placed a copy of The Diamond Sutra into her hands.

He seemed a bit confused. "You believe in this?"

Seraphina didn't speak. She just sat by the window, flipping through the pages continuously.

Pierce kept her company for a while before his phone rang.

He got up and went to the living room balcony.

It was Officer Fletcher calling. "Mr. Prescott, we recently busted a rape and burglary case and seized a batch of stolen goods. One of the items appears to be your wife's ring."

Pierce replied, "I'll be right there."

He returned to the bedroom and hugged Seraphina from behind. "I have to step out for a bit to take care of something."

She still showed no reaction.

Pierce kissed her cheek, and as he walked out of the master bedroom, he instructed the bodyguard and the maids, "Make lunch for her according to the menu I provided. As long as she doesn't contact the outside world, she can do whatever she pleases."
