Officer Fletcher quickly cautioned, "Mr. Prescott, I'm sorry, but according to protocol, you can't interact with the suspect directly. You can only observe from outside the interrogation room."
Pierce clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning white. He stayed silent for a moment before finally suppressing his inner fury and saying coldly, "Fine."
Officer Fletcher nodded and led him to the observation area attached to the interrogation room.
Through the glass, Pierce had a clear view of the interrogation.
Two officers sat behind a table. Across from them slouched a scrawny, sleazy-looking man—it was Steve.
Steve leaned back in his chair with an obnoxious, cocky grin on his face, showing not an ounce of panic at being arrested.
"Steve, come clean. You're suspected of multiple burglaries and rapes, and we have concrete evidence. What excuse could you possibly have now?"
The male officer sitting on the left demanded sternly, slamming his hand on the table.
Steve snorted in utter disdain. "Excuse? What do I need an excuse for? I'll admit to the burglaries—I stole that stuff. But you'd better not frame me for rape. You have no proof, so what are you gonna do about it?"
"You still dare to deny it?!" The female officer on the right slammed her hand on the desk, her face flushing with anger. "We've already found tons of illegally recorded videos on your computer! Those are proof of your assaults, and you still want to lie your way out?"
At the mention of 'videos,' Steve wasn't panicked at all; in fact, he became even more arrogant.
