Hearing this, a dark, sinister look flashed across Lyra's eyes.
Escaped?
She had given Felicity the hint earlier, and Felicity should have already set things into motion. How could she fail again?
Felicity cursed bitterly, "That Alaric is so useless. He's an absolute coward! I can't possibly give birth to this baby. I could never accept having an idiot for a child."
Lyra dabbed at the fake tears in the corners of her eyes, her tone shifting back to gentle sweetness. "Then what are you going to do about the pregnancy?"
"I'll just get rid of it after this is all done!"
"But you're pretty far along. It could be dangerous."
"It's fine. I'm young and I'll bounce back quickly. People get them all the time and are perfectly fine."
Lyra maintained her delicate, breathy voice. "Felicity, you really don't have to do all this for me. I'll feel so guilty if you hurt your own body like this..."
Felicity immediately interjected, "Lyra, please don't think like that! I'm doing this voluntarily. You didn't force me, and you certainly didn't blackmail me. Don't worry about me. Just promise me you'll take good care of yourself, okay?"
Lyra gave a soft "Mhm." "Alright. I'll listen to you."
Felicity spoke with breathless excitement. "Oh, right! Lyra, I have great news! Pierce apparently confiscated Seraphina's phone! She has no way to contact the outside world! It'll be so much easier for me to make a move next time. I don't even have to worry about her calling the police."
