He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 26

The waitresses screamed in terror, and the restaurant manager rushed forward, desperately trying to pull the two men apart.

But Pierce was completely unhinged, acting like a rabid animal with terrifying strength.

The manager pleaded with Lyra. "Ma'am, please stop your boyfriend! If he keeps going, he's going to kill him!"

Lyra threw herself forward, tugging at his arm. "Pierce, stop! Pierce, you have to stop! You're going to beat him to death!"

After landing a few more devastating blows, Pierce finally stepped back once the man stopped moving completely.

Standing up, he planted his foot directly onto the drunk's bloody, unrecognizable face and stomped down hard a few more times. "If you can't learn how to speak properly, I'll make sure you never speak again. Get the hell out of here!"

The drunk's friends finally recognized Pierce. Realizing he was someone they absolutely could not afford to cross, they scrambled to pick their friend up off the floor and bolted for the exit.

They carried the unconscious man out as fast as they could.

"I told you! Why the hell did you have to run your mouth about his woman? Now you got your ass beat, and we can't even report it."

The drunk's jaw looked entirely dislocated, his words slurring into a bloody mess. "Who does he think he is? I saw what his woman looks like... Mmph!!!!"

His friends nearly had a heart attack, immediately clamping their hands over his mouth. "If you want to live to see tomorrow, shut the hell up!"

...

Silas escorted Seraphina to his car, started the engine, and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

After the chaos that just unfolded, neither of them had much of an appetite left.

Seraphina sighed. "Forget it. Let's just do a raincheck."

Silas tapped his fingers against the steering wheel. "Let's pick up some takeout on the way back. Today is your housewarming, I should at least treat you to a meal."

Seraphina remembered what he had mentioned on the phone—that there was a development with the investigation.

Before they could even discuss it, they had been interrupted by the fight.

It didn't feel right to just go their separate ways now, so she nodded. "Since you're treating, let's just grab some groceries and I'll cook at home. The first meal in a new house has to be home-cooked anyway. It's supposed to bring good luck."
