He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 25

Pierce's gaze locked onto Seraphina like an X-ray.

She was draped in a men's jacket, its oversized fit practically swallowing her small frame.

And her purse was firmly clutched in another man's hand.

Silas recognized him immediately. "Mr. Prescott."

Pierce didn't even acknowledge him, his eyes entirely fixated on Seraphina.

He looked as if he was trying to bore a hole right through her.

Seraphina spoke up. "Are you two getting out? Excuse us, we need to get in."

Lyra asked, "Seraphina, is this your boyfriend?"

"Lyra, when are you going to drop this habit of making up rumors?"

Lyra muttered defensively, "But you're wearing his jacket, and he's carrying your bag. If he's not your boyfriend, what is he?"

Seraphina scoffed. "You ride in Mr. Prescott's passenger seat every day, and you sleep in his bed every night. But you two are just old friends, right?"

Lyra's face drained of color. "Seraphina, you really misunderstand..."

"Are you jealous?"

Pierce interrupted Lyra, staring intensely at Seraphina.

Seraphina shook her head. "No. I know I have no right to be jealous."

She took a step back and gestured toward the lobby. "Please hurry up, we're in a rush."

Pierce let out a dark chuckle and stormed out of the elevator.

With his long strides, Lyra struggled to keep up in her heels. "Pierce, slow down..."

"Pierce Prescott—"

Seraphina called out to him.

He stopped in his tracks. "Does Dr. Somerset have more to say?"
