He Finally Noticed Me Right When I Was Leaving novel Chapter 94

"It's an unknown number," Pierce said coldly. "It might not even be her."

"Who else would be calling you at this godforsaken hour? If it's not her, it's nobody decent."

Pierce's grip on the phone tightened until his knuckles turned white.

Ever since he had returned to Hudson City, Seraphina had treated him like absolute garbage. She hadn't shown him a single ounce of warmth.

And she had confessed it to his face. She had a child.

She had demanded a divorce and half his fortune. Even though she claimed it was to pay off the damages Sienna had caused, it proved she felt absolutely zero emotional attachment to him.

She didn't even possess the decency to feel guilty for ruining his life.

She didn't see him as a husband. She barely saw him as a human being.

To her, he was just a cash cow, a convenient fool she could manipulate whenever she wanted.

A suffocating wave of rage crashed over Pierce. Everything his grandfather had warned him about was playing out right in front of his eyes.

The phone continued to ring relentlessly. Seeing Pierce freeze in hesitation, Alistair felt a deep surge of triumph and took a slow, satisfied sip of his tea.

Right on cue, Lyra glided into the room.

The family driver stepped forward and bowed respectfully. "Sir, Miss Langley has arrived safely."

Alistair waved his hand, dismissing the driver.

His stern face broke into a warm, affectionate smile. "Lyra, come sit down. Try this new tea I just brewed."
