Zara, holding the baby, looked utterly confused. "Ma'am, did he really just leave? Who did he say was a first-time mom? You're the one who just became a mom. Why is he..."
Yardley's blatant neglect was so obvious that even the staff could see right through it.
Leah quickly shot Zara a look, signaling her to drop it.
Scarlett took a deep breath, her gaze turning frosty. "Zara, pack up the baby's things. I'm going upstairs to pack too. We are not staying in this house anymore."
Zara's jaw dropped in shock, and Leah jumped in fright, hurriedly trying to stop Scarlett. "Ma'am, please don't do anything rash. Mr. Flynn treats you well normally, he... he's just too busy."
"Even though he wasn't around much during your pregnancy, he had flowers delivered every week. Look, those sunflowers are still on the table. They're so fresh."
Sunflowers were Scarlett's favorite flowers because they always reached upward, growing fiercely and never relying on anyone.
But after everything he had done for Sylvia during her entire pregnancy, he only sent Scarlett a few sunflowers to encourage her to stay strong... Scarlett suddenly felt a deep revulsion toward the blooms.
She pushed Leah aside and ordered coldly, "Throw them out. They make me sick."
Unable to rein in her temper, Scarlett stormed upstairs.
Looking terrified, Leah dutifully tossed the sunflowers that had just arrived today into the trash can.
Scarlett packed her bags in a flash.
Just as she was about to head downstairs, her phone buzzed. It was her best friend, Talia Gray.
Scarlett steadied her emotions slightly and answered, "Talia."
"Scarlett, I heard your husband threw a christening party for your daughter this noon and invited a ton of friends. Why didn't you invite me? Are we fake friends or what?"
Scarlett replied flatly, "That wasn't for our daughter. It was for someone else's son."
Talia exploded instantly. "What the hell? Is your husband having an affair? He even has a son?"
From pregnancy to delivery, Scarlett had shouldered everything alone—Talia knew that better than anyone.
