He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 9

Scarlett's eyes were icy, exuding a chilling aura. "Then I will use every means necessary to take it all for her."

Taking her daughter from Zara's arms, she gazed deeply at that delicate, rosy face. "In short, I swear that my daughter will never suffer the indignities I faced in the Flynn family. Even if we divorce, Yardley must hand over everything that rightfully belongs to her!"

Talia wholeheartedly agreed, nodding vigorously. "Exactly! That's the mindset! But what if the Flynn family stubbornly refuses?"

Scarlett looked up and pointed out the window at the magnificent, nearly completed landmark skyscraper in Bay City. "I designed the Zenith Tower from start to finish. It's the crown jewel of all the Flynn family's projects. If they dare withhold anything, I'll make sure the entire project goes up in flames!"

Talia immediately grew excited, her eyes shining with admiration. "Wow! Honestly, Scarlett, watching you suffer for the past five years almost made me depressed! I've been waiting for the day you finally fight back!"

The moment Talia finished speaking, Scarlett's phone rang. It was her assistant designer, Gina. "Ms. Langley, I have some bad news."

"What is it?"

"Mr. Flynn just announced a new appointment in the meeting. He appointed Sylvia Stetson as the co-lead designer for the Zenith Tower project, to share the credit with you..."

Scarlett shot up from the bed. "What did you say?"

"I'll send you the official notice right now. Mr. Flynn privately told the team that this arrangement is because Julian gave us some valuable feedback when finalizing the draft, so he's giving his wife the status as a courtesy. She won't actually be participating in the work..."

Scarlett hung up the phone and opened the appointment notice. Her knuckles turned white from how hard she was gripping her phone.
