After leaving the hospital, Wynette had finally calmed down a little.

Adriel quietly followed behind her without saying a word.

Honestly, this whole thing really hurt her.

She had always believed Adam was kind and caring. But he had known the truth all along, yet still tried to make Noah marry her under the excuse of "making up for it."

Maybe Adam thought it was compensation. But to Wynette, it was still hiding the truth from her.

She believed Adam truly cared about her. And that was exactly why it hurt so much.

She could not pretend that none of it mattered.

Her mood still felt heavy.

Right then, Adriel suddenly grabbed her wrist. Before she could react, he pulled her into a dessert shop nearby.

He ordered a chocolate sundae.

"If you're upset, maybe something sweet will help?" he said as he handed it to her.

Wynette took a spoonful after hearing that.

It was sweet.

And honestly, she did feel a lot better.

She quickly finished the sundae, and a smile finally appeared on her face. "I'm okay now. Let's go home."

The two of them were still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. Wynette needed to head home and change.

After getting back, she told Ryker and Kaylee about Virgil.

Ryker agreed to meet him.

But Kaylee looked worried as she quietly asked, "Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher are going too?"

Hadn't Carl and Lila stopped getting involved in the younger generation's affairs after retiring?

So why suddenly?

Wynette noticed her concern and gently explained, "Dr. Clem knows them well. We're just having dinner together, and Dr. Clem will take a look at Dad while he's there. Don't overthink it."

But there was no way Kaylee could relax completely.

She asked again, "Should we prepare gifts for them?"

After all, this would be their first meeting. And thanks to the Gallaghers, they were able to get Virgil to treat Ryker.

Kaylee knew Virgil was an excellent doctor who rarely agreed to house calls.

The only reason he was willing to see Ryker this time was probably because of the Gallaghers.

Wynette thought for a moment. "Maybe we should bring something."

"Then ask Adriel what his grandparents like," Kaylee reminded her.

The older couple rarely appeared in public, so nobody really knew much about their preferences.

Wynette felt Kaylee made sense. She picked up her phone and sent Adriel a message asking what his grandparents liked.

A few seconds later, he replied. "They like you a lot. Why not wrap yourself up and deliver yourself straight to their grandson?"

Wynette stared at the message speechlessly.

Just as she was about to text back and tell him she was being serious, Adriel had already changed clothes and run over.

He greeted Ryker and Kaylee politely.

In less than a few days, he had successfully made himself familiar to Wynette's parents through pure effort alone.

It turned out that showing his face more often really worked. Both Ryker and Kaylee were treating him much more warmly now.

Adriel looked at Wynette and said, "I asked Grandpa and Grandma already. They said not to waste money on gifts. Just showing up is enough. And I'm really not joking this time. Look, I even have proof."
