He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 159

Wynette could not help clicking her tongue to herself.

Jamie definitely caused this.

With that thought, Wynette pulled back her curious gaze. "How about we go check on the samples again tomorrow?"

She was mostly worried about Alice's health.

Wynette knew Alice should not push herself too hard.

"No need." Alice gently turned down her kindness. "The sooner we finish today's work, the sooner I can go home and kick that lunatic out."

Jamie was still refusing to leave her apartment.

Just thinking about it made Alice irritated again.

Right now, she wanted nothing to do with that unreasonable man.

But Jamie clearly had no intention of leaving her alone. He kept showing up around her on purpose.

The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she became.

And their current relationship was only driving her crazy.

Seeing Alice's mood, Wynette tried to comfort her. "Relax. It's not that serious."

Alice forced an ugly smile.

Inside, though, she was cursing Jamie nonstop.

In the end, after Wynette calmed her down for a while, Alice finally buried her frustration deep inside.

Wynette and Alice spent the entire day at one of Jewell Group's factories.

There were so many samples to review, but after checking them one by one, Alice still was not satisfied.

She had extremely high standards in this area. So she and Wynette stayed behind, going over every detail carefully before finally leaving the factory satisfied.

After returning to the company, Alice carried her notebook straight back to her office.

From the moment she entered the factory, she had been writing down every issue she noticed that day.

Everything that needed revisions was already recorded in her notebook.

The moment Wynette walked into her office, she got a message from Adriel.

He said the driver had already gone to pick up her parents, so Wynette could head straight to Rainmist House later.

After checking the time, Wynette suddenly realized she was almost late.

If traffic got bad on the way there, she would barely make it on time.

Wynette quickly fixed herself up and drove to Rainmist House.

By the time she arrived at the private room, the atmosphere inside was already lively.

Carl and Lila were sitting together. Adriel sat beside them. On the other side of the couple sat an elderly man with white hair and a frail appearance. That should be Virgil.

There was an empty seat beside Adriel, and farther down sat Ryker and Kaylee.

Everyone was chatting happily.

"Mr. Carl, Mrs. Lila, sorry I'm late. Traffic was terrible," Wynette apologized awkwardly.

There had been a car accident on the overpass earlier, which caused a traffic jam for a while.

Even though Wynette had already texted Adriel to explain, she still felt embarrassed.

Carl and Lila said they did not mind and quickly invited her to sit down.

Wynette took the seat beside Adriel. Lila kept glancing at her with a cheerful smile, clearly in a very good mood.

Virgil had already checked Ryker's pulse and confidently declared that the problem was not serious.

He handed over a business card. "Come see me every day from now on. I'll give you treatment. After a few rounds, I guarantee you'll be able to talk, run, and move around normally again. But if you expect to recover like nothing ever happened, that's beyond me."

Virgil made the limitations clear upfront.
