He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 176

Adriel's condition wasn't serious. The doctor repeatedly warned that the wound on his left hand must not get wet again.

The doctor kept lecturing him from the side, while Adriel looked completely unconcerned.

To him, a minor injury in exchange for Wynette's attention was more than worth it.

If Wynette knew what he was really thinking right now, she would probably kick him a few times without hesitation.

After finishing the discharge paperwork, Wynette and Adriel were about to leave the hospital when they unexpectedly passed Eve's room.

The door to the room was wide open, and Eve's furious shouting echoed out from inside. "Justin, if you think you're bringing that bastard child home, I'm telling you right now—absolutely not. I will never agree to it."

As she screamed, she grabbed a pillow and hurled it straight at Justin.

Inside the room, Noah sat silently on the sofa with an ugly expression on his face, watching his parents tear into each other.

His complexion was deathly pale. His clothes were wrinkled and messy, and the dark circles beneath his eyes made him look utterly exhausted.

Listening to his parents fight only filled him with impatience and disgust.

Justin let out a cold snort. "You don't get a say anymore, Eve. If it weren't for your stupidity, our family would never have ended up like this. Look at the wonderful son and daughter you raised. The whole family's been ruined because of you."

He shoved all the blame for the Shepherds' collapse onto Payton and Noah.

Eve immediately snapped back. "Oh, shut the hell up, Justin. And what exactly are you supposed to be? You think you're some big shot? If you were actually capable, you wouldn't have spent your whole life whining for a son after your daughter was born.

"You're nothing but a pathetic idiot who thinks sons are investments. Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror? I'm telling you right now that bastard is never stepping foot inside the Shepherd residence. Everything the Shepherds own belongs to Payton and Noah."

At this point, Eve had no intention of saving Justin's dignity anymore. He had already humiliated himself enough with what he'd done. Why should she still care about protecting his reputation?

Back when Eve gave birth to Payton, Justin had immediately disliked the fact that she was a girl and couldn't inherit Shepherd Group. Not even a month after Payton was born, he had already been pressuring Eve to have a second child.

By the time Payton was three months old, Eve announced she was pregnant again.

But what Eve never could have imagined was that not long after she became pregnant with Noah, Justin had already gotten another woman pregnant outside the marriage.

He was afraid Eve's second child would also be a daughter, so he secretly found another woman and had her conceive at the same time. His plan was simple. When Eve gave birth, the other woman would also deliver her child.

If Eve gave birth to another girl while the mistress had a son, Justin intended to switch the babies.

But unexpectedly, Eve gave birth to Noah. Meanwhile, the other woman died on the operating table after suffering massive bleeding during an emergency C-section.

As for the child, Justin secretly sent him away to Cedar Hollow Town to be raised by someone else.

Even after having Noah, Justin still kept that backup plan in place.

If Noah turned out successful, then the child outside the family would remain irrelevant to the Shepherds.

But if Noah ever became a discarded piece, that illegitimate son would become Justin's bargaining chip.

And now, that exact moment had arrived. Noah had lost the ability to have children, and Justin had already been planning to bring the illegitimate son back into the family.

Before Justin could even figure out how to reveal the truth, the media had already exposed the boy's identity.

Because the Shepherds had already dominated trending headlines for days, the story instantly shot to the top of social media again.

At that point, Justin simply stopped caring and publicly declared that he intended to bring the illegitimate son back to reclaim his place in the family.

Watching his parents rip each other apart gave Noah a pounding headache.

His face darkened as he abruptly stood up and headed for the door.

But the moment he saw Wynette and Adriel standing side by side outside the room, embarrassment flashed across his face.

Justin and Eve cursed her every single day, but Noah's heart had only drifted closer and closer to her.

Especially after everything that happened to him, he constantly found himself reminiscing about the good times they once shared.

Only now did Noah finally realize that somewhere along the way, he had fallen in love with her. He just hadn't understood his own feelings before.

Wynette looked at him sideways and let out a cold laugh. "And why exactly should I be happy, Mr. Shepherd?"

Noah paused before saying quietly, "We need to talk."

"There's no need," Wynette rejected him immediately. "There's nothing left for us to discuss."

Then she laughed mockingly. "And stop looking at me with that disgusting expression. What, did you suddenly realize I'm the one you actually love? Now you want to repent and start over?"

Wynette saw straight through his thoughts at a glance. The realization alone made her physically sick.

Noah followed her words and confessed openly, "Yes. I know that I..."

"What exactly would I even want from you?" Wynette cut him off mercilessly, her eyes full of ridicule. "Your fake personality? Your family's endless mess? Or the fact that you can't even have children anymore?"

That final sentence completely shattered Noah.

His face turned pale as humiliation and fury crashed over him. She knew. She knew everything.

Noah turned toward Adriel beside her and snapped viciously through clenched teeth. "And what about him? What do you want from Adriel? Because he can help you destroy my family? So you sold yourself to him? Is that it? You're really willing to throw yourself away just to stay by his side?"

He was so enraged that he completely lost control of his words.

The accusation made it sound as though Wynette had traded herself for benefits.

The atmosphere around Adriel instantly turned ice cold. When he looked at Noah again, his eyes were filled with murderous frost.
