He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 185

Inside Lucardia Airport.

Wynette was in the VIP lounge when the announcement came through the speakers.

A sudden downpour had already begun outside. Reports said Lucardia was now facing heavy rain mixed with hail, and all flights heading into the city had been cancelled. No aircraft were allowed to depart or land.

She was currently asking the service desk if there were any connecting routes available.

She had to get to Lucardia today.

Her initial plan had been to fly to a nearby city first, then transfer to Lucardia from there.

But with the weather worsening, whether Lucardia Airport would reopen remained uncertain.

Wynette couldn't help but grow anxious.

Her phone suddenly rang.

She thanked the staff at the counter and stepped aside.

"Adriel," she answered.

There was some noise on his end.

His voice was low and steady. "Where are you right now?"

Before she could respond, she heard the airport announcement system from his side. She paused in surprise. "Are you at the airport?" she asked.

"Turn around," he said softly, almost with a faint smile.

Wynette turned and immediately saw him. Adriel stood not far away, phone in hand, posture straight, eyes already on her.

He ended the call and walked toward her without hesitation.

She also moved toward him. "What are you doing here?" she asked, clearly surprised.

Before she could finish the sentence, he pulled her into his arms.

Wynette could feel the fatigue in him immediately.

She didn't resist, only gently patted his shoulder in comfort.

After a moment, he released her.

He looked down at her. "Lucardia is under hailstorm conditions. All flights are grounded."

"Yeah," she replied softly.

She then explained the issue with the raw materials.

Adriel frowned slightly. "We can still make it by train."

He was already pulling out his phone, checking routes.

"Air travel is shut down, but the railway might still be operating."

Wynette blinked, realizing it only now. Right, the train station is right next to the airport.

From Scenaville to Lucardia, it only took about two and a half hours by high-speed rail.

And it was still running.

Adriel quickly booked two first-class tickets and said to Wynette, "One hour until departure. We can still make it if we go now," he said. "I'm coming with you to Lucardia."

In weather like this, there was no way he would let her go alone.

Wynette reached for his hand, and together they left the airport, heading to the nearby train station.

By the time they passed security and sat down inside the carriage, she finally exhaled in relief.

She checked the weather again. "There's a typhoon expected tonight in Lucardia."

If the typhoon really hits, it would be better not to go out.

"It'll be fine," Adriel said calmly. "Lucardia gets typhoon warnings every season. Most of them turn away before landfall."

People even joked online that typhoons "loved teasing Lucardia"—always announcing themselves, but rarely staying.

Wynette thought about it and realized that he wasn't wrong.

She smiled slightly and then asked, "Then what about work? You're coming with me."

"I've already handled it, don't worry," he said casually. "Blaze is there. And besides," he added, leaning back slightly, "I work all year round anyway. This is a rare break. Just treating it as a trip with you."

Wynette had heard the rumors before.

Adriel tilted his head slightly, watching her quietly.

His gaze was warm, deep, and tender.

Five minutes before the train arrived at Lucardia Station, he gently woke her.

Wynette slowly opened her eyes.

Only then did she realize she had slept the entire way, and she became embarrassed again.

Every time she took transport, no matter what it was, she always fell asleep without fail.

Adriel only smiled softly and helped her smooth her slightly messy hair.

After arrival, he held her hand as they followed the signs toward the exit.

Outside, Lucardia was already drenched in a relentless downpour.

The road outside the station was almost submerged.

Before the train arrived, Adriel had already ordered a ride on his phone.

The car was waiting at the designated pickup point.

Fortunately, it was not far from the station exit.

Adriel wrapped an arm around her shoulders, tilting the umbrella toward her side.

In just a short walk, he was already soaked.

But he did not care.

Once inside the car, he gave the address. "Fourmere Hotel."

It was the largest hotel in Lucardia.

He had already booked it online right after buying the train tickets so everything was arranged, down to check-in on arrival.

Wynette looked at him in surprise.

She had not expected him to prepare everything so thoroughly.
