He Loves Me Right, Finally novel Chapter 59

Chapter 59 The Bait Is Set

Finished

Wynette let out a startled cry as she lost her balance. She threw her hands out and pressed them against Adriel’s chest.

Under her palms, he felt warm and soft but also firm.

Adriel didn’t even finish putting on his shirt. He reached out fast and caught her by the waist.

“It’s okay.”

He lifted his head, trying to see if she was hurt.

At the same time, Wynette, still bracing herself against his chest, looked up when she heard his voice.

A warm, soft touch brushed her forehead.

By pure accident, Adriel’s lips had touched her there.

It lasted only a second, but it felt very real.

Wynette’s eyes went wide. Her whole body froze, too stiff to move.

She could tell Adriel wasn’t any better. His muscles were tense, like he didn’t dare move either.

She blinked, looking down at him, a little lost. What were they supposed to do now?

Their position was way too close.

Her face turned bright red, burning hot.

Adriel’s hand was still around her waist. The soft feel under his palm reminded him he should let go.

So he did.

Compared to Wynette, who was blushing hard, Adriel stayed calm. “Hmm, do you want to get up?”

His words finally snapped her back to reality.

“Oh, right. Sorry.”

She didn’t even know why she was apologizing.

Still leaning on his chest, Wynette scrambled to her feet in a hurry.

After a brief, clumsy moment, she finally stood up straight. Then she quickly stepped back, putting several feet between them.

Feeling awkward, she looked away and gestured at him. “Your shirt”

Adriel pushed himself up slowly and pulled it on. “Done.”

Chapter 59 The Bait Is Set

There was a hint of amusement in his eyes.

Finished

But the moment Wynette looked at him, he hid it and went back to his usual cool expression.

Her cheeks were still red. She glanced at him a few times, opening her mouth, but no words came out.

The scene kept replaying in her head. She felt so embarrassed she could barely stand it.

Adriel noticed and spoke calmly, “I’ve already made the arrangements. Your studio team can come in and start anytime.”

Since Marcus had signed the papers, Noah would soon find out Wynette had sold her shares.

And when that happened, trouble would follow.

Adriel had already thought ahead for her.

Now it was up to Wynette what she wanted to do next.

She looked at him in surprise. “That fast?”

She had already told Jasmine and given everyone at the studio a heads–up.

If they wanted to stay, she would welcome them.

She’d given them a week off. After that, they could come back and start work.

If anyone didn’t want to move or follow her, she wouldn’t treat them unfairly.

She planned to give them six months‘ pay as severance.

And if they still couldn’t find a job after that, she was willing to keep paying a basic monthly salary.

Of course, they were always welcome to come back to the studio later.

She had left the choice entirely up to them.

Adriel smiled and nodded. “Blaze works fast. If you need anything in the future, just go to him. He’ll help you handle it.”
