The moment the heavy car doors slammed shut, Sebastian leveled a vicious glare at her. "Are you happy now?"
"Ecstatic," Helena replied, her voice drifting with lazy sarcasm.
"You're a miserable bitch, Helena," he spat, his tone laced with pure venom.
"Oh, absolutely. But no matter how miserable I am, there isn't a damn thing you can do about it right now, is there?" She met his gaze directly, unflinching.
Sebastian's hand cracked across her face in a brutal slap. Helena's head snapped back against the leather seat, but she still didn't offer a single word of surrender.
"I did what you asked. From this moment on, you will remain locked in that house until the baby is born safely," Sebastian ordered coldly. He didn't even bother putting up his usual composed facade around her anymore.
"And as for Wynn, don't worry. I'll allow you a visit once a week," he finished.
Helena said nothing, sinking into the leather upholstery. The absolute despair washing over her was suffocating. Sebastian had effectively stripped away every last sliver of hope, burying her alive in this hell with no room to breathe, let alone fight back.
But outwardly, she remained icy and serene. Her gaze held a stubborn pride as she stared him down. "Just make sure you remember your promise to me."
She kept her spine perfectly straight, refusing to bend. There was no point in yielding now.
A thin line of blood had already dried at the corner of her mouth from the force of his blow. It burned. The pain radiated deep into her jaw.
Helena slammed hard against the car door, her good hand instinctively grabbing the armrest to keep from sliding down the seat. Sebastian didn't spare her another glance.
The SUV sped toward the estate, the silence between them thick and suffocating. When they finally pulled up to the front doors, Sebastian made no move to get out.
Sebastian's bodyguards opened the door, practically escorting her out. Helena wasn't naive enough to think he had driven her home out of some twisted sense of duty. He was just ensuring she was securely locked up so she couldn't cause any more trouble.
Did she actually believe he would keep his promise to stay away from Janetta? Not a chance. Janetta was pregnant and had just been publicly humiliated. He was probably already planning his route back to comfort her.
Without a single word, Helena turned and walked into the grand foyer. The second her feet cleared the threshold, Sebastian ordered the driver to pull away.
