She suddenly remembered what The Butler at the estate had told her.
Sebastian actually did memorize her preferences.
He was the one personally pulling the strings behind the scenes.
Looking at the man sitting across from her, she honestly couldn't tell what was a manipulation and what was real anymore.
Once bitten, twice shy. She had learned the hard way not to trust him.
So she stayed perfectly quiet.
"Is there anything else you want?" he suddenly asked, his tone surprisingly soft.
Helena snapped out of her daze. Glancing at the digital menu on the tablet, she shook her head.
"That's too much food. We won't be able to finish it," she said honestly.
Even though he was worth billions, she genuinely hated wasting things.
She had always been practical during her years trapped in the Hayes family.
Sebastian just shrugged casually. "Beau is joining us later. If we really can't finish it, we'll just leave it."
Helena blinked in surprise.
She hadn't expected Beau Sterling to crash their lunch.
But given how thick as thieves Beau and Sebastian were, it wasn't exactly shocking.
She nodded, keeping her thoughts to herself.
She wasn't close with any of Sebastian's inner circle, Beau included.
They were barely acquaintances who nodded at each other at parties.
Plus, she always found Beau incredibly unnerving.
He was way too ruthless.
Anyone who could survive the Sterling family's bloody succession war and come out as the undisputed king was deeply dangerous.
But she quickly pushed the thought away.
Sebastian handed the tablet back to the golf course waiter.
The waiter bowed and practically ran out of the room.
Helena didn't try to make conversation. She just sat in total silence.
Before long, the waiter returned with the appetizers.
Sebastian personally picked up his chopsticks and placed a generous serving of Asparagus with Scallion Oil onto her plate.
Helena just stared at it.
The vibe in the room was strangely peaceful, but it felt deeply wrong.
A heavy sense of dread sat in her chest, but she couldn't pinpoint why.
Instinctively, she blamed it on Julian's chaotic interference earlier.
"Sebastian," Beau greeted smoothly.
When he glanced at Helena, he just gave a polite, dismissive nod.
She couldn't care less.
Sebastian gave him a curt nod. "I thought you said you were coming alone."
It sounded like a direct interrogation.
Beau didn't flinch. "Janetta's flight just landed, so I picked her up on my way. She needs to adjust her sleep schedule anyway. If she crashes now, she'll be up all night."
Sebastian didn't say a word, just keeping his icy gaze locked on Beau.
He refused to even look in Janetta's direction.
Janetta shifted awkwardly, but she was a celebrity who had survived the brutal entertainment industry.
She put on a flawless smile and said softly, "Sebastian."
He completely ignored her.
The awkwardness instantly doubled.
Beau remained unfazed, simply leading Janetta deeper into the room.
The two of them pulled out their chairs.
Out of the corner of her eye, Helena quietly studied the homewrecker.
