He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 585

Sebastian reversed the car back into its parking spot.

He watched his son's beaming face out of the corner of his eye.

For some inexplicable reason, maybe just a trick of the mind.

He thought Kyle's smile looked exactly like hers.

Specifically, the woman from his memories.

And conveniently, the woman sitting beside him shared those exact same features.

But he pushed the thought away, keeping his face impassive.

He parked the car smoothly.

And stepped out.

She didn't wait for him to open her door; she hopped out on her own.

He threw her a glance but said nothing.

Kyle was practically buzzing with excitement, scrambling out and rushing straight to her side.

He chattered away, completely energized.

She listened intently.

Not a trace of annoyance on her face.

He didn't intervene, but watching them triggered a complicated knot of emotions in his chest.

The three of them stepped into the elevator.

He pressed the button for the top floor.

Kyle blinked. "Daddy, did you press the wrong button?"

"No. There's another apartment in the penthouse. The one below belongs to your mother, so it wouldn't be appropriate for her to stay there," he explained casually.

"Oh," the boy murmured, nodding as if he understood.

He didn't elaborate, and Kyle didn't press for details.

Helena remained completely silent throughout the exchange.

A moment later, the doors slid open to the penthouse, and he stepped out first.

Kyle trailed right behind him.

She followed closely at the rear.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed he had kept his hand pressed against the elevator doors to ensure they wouldn't close on her.
