Helena shot Janetta a frigid glare, a deadly darkness pooling in her eyes.
Perfect. Before she even had the chance to hunt Janetta down, the woman had delivered herself on a silver platter.
Charlotte instantly tensed up.
She watched the intruder warily, not out of fear of being recognized...
...but out of fear that things were about to get dangerously out of hand.
After all, Charlotte knew better than anyone just how utterly unhinged and ruthless Janetta could be.
But Janetta barely even registered Charlotte's presence; her manic focus was locked entirely on Helena.
Remaining perfectly composed, Helena shot a subtle look at Charlotte and shook her head.
Charlotte caught the silent command immediately: she needed to leave the room.
Helena couldn't risk Janetta connecting the dots about their past history.
Charlotte did not hesitate.
Standing there uselessly wouldn't help anyone; she needed to get outside and call for backup right away.
Spinning on her heel, she bolted out the door.
"Hurry, get in here!" she yelled out into the corridor.
Sebastian's Bodyguards instantly snapped to attention and charged toward her voice.
But Janetta was terrifyingly fast. Ignoring the fleeing screenwriter, she lunged forward and grabbed Helena by the arm.
Helena reacted instantly, twisting her arm and locking Janetta's wrist in an iron grip.
The temperature in her gaze plummeted to absolute zero.
Janetta thrashed and twisted against the hold, spitting out a stream of hysterical curses.
It was the desperate thrashing of a woman backed into a corner.
"Helena, you shameless bitch! You're a dirty homewrecker! You're a cheater! You act all high and mighty in public, but behind closed doors, you do nothing but seduce other women's husbands!" she screeched, completely losing her mind.
Yet, even as she hurled venom, she somehow managed to contort her features into a mask of tearful victimhood.
She looked exactly like a tragically wronged wife.
Combined with the fact that Helena was physically restraining her, it created the perfect illusion that Helena was the aggressor.
The production office was located inside a sleek, modern house in Riverton.
