He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 740

Before Solomon could even respond, Sebastian's calm voice drifted through the line.

"You have Skye's medical records on your end. That means you have a way to obtain her DNA, right?" Sebastian asked.

"Obviously," Solomon snapped.

"They won't suspect you, but they will suspect me," Sebastian stated coolly.

"What exactly are you plotting?" Solomon frowned, suddenly wide awake.

Sebastian didn't mince words. "Run a maternity test between Skye and Helena."

"You think Skye is yours? No way, man. Your daughter died back then. She didn't have that kind of luck. And this Skye kid? If she wasn't the young miss of the Campbell family, she wouldn't have survived either. Her surgery was a massive gamble. They were just throwing a hail mary," Solomon argued, rubbing his temples in frustration.

"Don't tell me you think they're the same person just because I mentioned they shared the same surgeon?" Solomon was losing his mind. "Listen to me, dammit. My mentor and I treat wounds in similar ways too. It proves nothing!"

He immediately regretted ever bringing it up, knowing it would only feed Sebastian's paranoia.

Sebastian merely replied with a calm, "Julian's wife—the current Mrs. Campbell—coincidentally shares the same name, Helena."

Solomon's frown deepened. "So what? You think this is Helena's illegitimate child? You gonna use that to mess with Julian? Julian definitely knows about it. If he didn't, why would the kid be living with the Campbells? Aren't you just setting yourself up for humiliation?"

Solomon's harsh logic forced Sebastian into a brief silence.

He couldn't refute it.

But there were too many details Sebastian couldn't logically explain right now.

He was just missing one crucial piece of evidence.

So, he had to rely on his gut instinct.

"Just do it. Stop talking so much," Sebastian demanded evenly.

Solomon let out an exasperated scoff. "Fine, I'll do it. A top cardiothoracic surgeon running covert DNA tests. I'm so fucking speechless."

Sebastian remained silent.

"Even if they turn out to be mother and daughter, what's your game plan?" Solomon asked.

"We'll cross that bridge when we get the results," Sebastian deflected.

Inside, however, the picture in Sebastian's mind was sharpening into focus.

If Skye was truly Helena's daughter...

"Alright," Solomon said, too exhausted to keep arguing.

"Wait for my word." He moved to hang up.

Just as the call was about to end, Sebastian stopped him. "One more thing."

"Sebastian, are you fucking kidding me?" Solomon sounded on the verge of a breakdown.

"Do you know Dr. Leo Vance?" Sebastian asked coolly.

"What are you up to now? You getting plastic surgery?" Solomon frowned. "He's the top reconstructive surgeon in the world. Any of his assistants could run circles around the rest of the industry. His schedule is packed to the brim; seeing him without an advance appointment is impossible. These days, he only takes on complex restorative cases. He has no interest in a virgin face like yours."

Solomon grumbled out the explanation.

"Book an appointment with him for me," Sebastian pressed on, ignoring the sarcasm.

Solomon was speechless.

After a long pause, he finally asked, "Have you completely lost your mind?"

"I need him for something. Carter Miles tried to reach him but got rejected," Sebastian admitted without hiding the truth.
