Janetta made her request.
In her mind, they were still a married couple.
Living together was only natural.
"The press in Coralia will definitely find out I'm in town. It's such a small place, and it wouldn't look good if I just stayed at a hotel," she added hastily, trying to justify herself.
"No need. It's not convenient," Sebastian rejected her flat out. "I have work to do. I'm very busy."
That was the second time he had told her to leave him alone.
Janetta panicked even more. This time, she lost her composure and let the words slip out.
"Sebastian, is this because of Helena?" she demanded.
Then, her emotions completely unraveled. "You know exactly who Helena is, and I know exactly where you are right now. Aren't you afraid of the consequences of chasing after her like this? Besides, don't you know she has an ulterior motive?"
Faced with her hysteria, Sebastian's response was brutally concise.
"Janetta, you need to calm down." And with that, before she could utter another syllable, he ended the call.
But within minutes, a barrage of text messages from her flooded his screen.
Sebastian glanced down at them.
It was the same old tired rhetoric.
She was throwing his past guilt in his face.
Claiming that her departure back then had been a tragic necessity, and so on.
But reading the same manipulative script over and over again was enough to disgust anyone.
He didn't reply to a single message.
Unable to handle the silence, Janetta called him yet again a few minutes later.
Sebastian muted his phone, completely ignoring her.
But she kept calling, relentlessly, until he finally picked up.
The moment he answered, he heard her sobbing into the receiver.
The irritation in his eyes deepened into something cold and hard.
"Janetta, whatever I owed you in the past, hasn't it been paid back in full? Have you forgotten whose cornea is currently in your eye?" he demanded sharply.
That single sentence silenced her instantly.
She had absolutely no way to argue against it.
The production crew soon arrived to escort her to set, and Janetta finally left the room.
The lavish suite instantly fell silent.
...
Meanwhile—
Helena brought Skye Campbell back to her apartment.
"Go get some rest. I'll make us dinner," she coaxed softly.
Skye looked at her, clearly feeling guilty. "Lena, I'm sorry. I got sick and caused you trouble again."
The little girl's voice was sweet but painfully devoid of energy.
Helena's heart ached for her, twisting into a tight knot in her chest.
She knew exactly what this illness meant.
But she forced a gentle smile. "Don't be silly. You are never a burden to me. Never."
Her unwavering certainty made Skye let out a soft, happy giggle.
